Not a good life sim since the characters have jack shit to say or do, not a good island-design sort of game since it takes ages to get the tools to do so and actually designing the island is kind of sluggish, I guess, with all the animations you have to watch every time you put down a path or cliff.

It's a shame that almost all types of media these days have some sort of instant gratification, causing your brain to become addicted to those quick bursts of dopamine.
AC is a game about relaxing and taking it slow.
If you don't like the game due to your rewired brain then that's your deal, but don't go act like you're an expert qualified to review it.
It's like a young woman reviewing a game like DOOM badly because she's terrified of violence.

Every villager of a personality type will say the same things repeatedly, often echoing each other if you visit them one right after the other. Even the older games at least checked previously seen dialogue to ensure you didn't get duplicates with villagers of the same type, but everything about this version of the game is lazy and bland.

Just look at the house exteriors.
There's no defining characteristic for any villager, they all look like one of a handful of designs with different colors and many are exact duplicates that don't even match the villager's color scheme.
No weird-shaped doors or cute window dressings. Nothing.

I don't even care about it anymore and I've been trying to slow burn it since launch.
Less than an hour a day, no time travel, no amiibo fuckery, no grinding.
It's a shallow, dull life sim with fuckall effort put into it and zero personality.

I think it's alright but not good. It would be good if they added more villager dialogue. Added gyros, paintings, made balls kickable, make it to where you can swim in pools/6 feet deep ocean water. It's cool that depending on what shoes you wear the noises are different, walking on different patterns or sand vs ground is different. I like that villagers sing and Naruto run. I like that if you play an instrument while its display, you kinda play along and it sounds like the song but with the instrument. Bouncing balls is cool. Can Nintendo make it to where you can like hold donuts as emotes n shit, add more emotes, add special items; example: Flying carpet, instead of walking fly on this carpet. Like fuck. Kisame, we're leaving.

Most people tend to enjoy the animal crossing series but some don't. If you ever liked one of them then you'll think this one is great. That's all there is to say.

It's good for Animal Crossing, a little less cosy than the older ones though. Still kinda shit because the terraforming is just annoyingly bad, the QoL features are nonexistent almost, and you can't place a bridge over a fucking cliff why the fuck are they only usable on water just fuck off
