2020... I am beyond forgotten...erased from the collective memory
we just had this thread
was gonna get it when it reached 50 canuck bucks then i heard its gonna get dlc so ill just wait for the complete edition whenever that happens
And for a reason
I just played this game last month and I barely remember anything about it except that I never failed any checks or quests
I don't use this board much anymore but I had no idea it was out. Haven't seen any advertising, not even a popup when I open Steam.
Playing it on game pass right now actually A fine quarantine play to pass some time. Excited to see what obsidian can do with Microsoft bucks
>Excited to see what obsidian can do with Microsoft bucks
They made a survival game
The combat is trying to be complex with the different types of ammo and shit and all the enemies fucking do is stand in place while shooting
same with the crafting system, why do they even fucking bother with those
they clearly ran out of time towards the end
>art style and writing trying way too hard, uninspired
>role playing elements suck ass
at least fallout 4 had a great world
I liked the planets, it felt like Ratchet and Clank save a lot of enemy recycling
i liked that the maps were designed like KotoR if that makes sense. thats about it.
just pirate it, this piece of shit isn't worth paying for
I'm only 2 hours in, but so far it seems to have only 3 fucking type of ammo: Light, Heavy (for bigger gun) and energy for Plasma gun and shit. Guns don't seems to be able to swap from one to the other. Is this going to change? Otherwise, I fail to see you point, on the contrary, it's super fucking streamlined as fuck.
It's just one of those things that makes me wonder "Why did they bother?" I don't need different types of ammo, i just need combat to be worth a damn, instead of giving me different flavor of bullets just make the NPCs smarter so it's actually a fucking challenge
That's because it got EPIC'd like other Take Two published games.
Shouldn't have been such a pile of shit, then.
This was the game that didn't let you customize a female character to look good, but male ones had the option to look handsome, right?
Outer worlds was generic trash. Outer wilds was a mix of gameplay and narrrative masterpiece. I saw so much anecdotal evidence and article written about also how disco elysium fucked with the outer worlds release. If the story was not worth telling, then it was a very boring game by comparison
>The outer worlds
More like outer turds haha
Because it was shit.
I finished it. Was a waste of time. Unlikable characters. Story never goes anywhere, never does anything interesting. Combat was Fallout 4.
Really should've seen it coming straight from the get-go when they marketed it based on the success of New Vegas. Never trust a game that is marketed on the basis of another game. 'Spiritual successor' is code for 'buy our garbage, nostalgia faggot'.
That's what happens to uninspired, boring games.
I failed Ellie's companion quest because the game glitched and auto-failed it as soon as we left the ship on the big metropolis planet near the end. It also never spawned her on the ship with the others.
>recruit pavarti
>like the shit out of her
>cant wait to bone the fuck outta her later
>you literally set her up on a dyke date and cuck yourself for all eternity
Not even worth a pirate
I liked the art and the style they were going for. The writing varies from good to bad. Gameplay is a little too simple. Stat balancing was a poorly optimized too: on one hand, I do like having companions affect some events, but the skill bonus they provide essentially trivializes pretty much everything. I like most of the characters, except for Parvati, who is pushed way too hard on the PC.
I feel that after visiting the Groundbreaker, everything started to get very samey and the game became a slogging chore. The ending was, as says, clearly rushed. In the end, I could only really get through the game by forcing myself to embrace a spessmen persona and pretending to be John Crichton.
Overall, I came off with the impression that it was a very average game with a few good spots. Unlike say, Fallout 4, which I felt to be a good game that had the potential to be much greater had the devs worked more on fleshing out the game world instead of having the player build it themselves, I don't feel that there's much room to actually meaningfully improve The Outer Worlds.
Shooting enemies do try to take cover, but that's really all they do. The problem is that combat against AI usually comes down to them shooting or rushing the player.
More like outurd worlds
>Shooting enemies do try to take cover, but that's really all they do. The problem is that combat against AI usually comes down to them shooting or rushing the player
This is why i think Obsidian is just a shitty company that doesn't know how to make good videogames
Instead of trying to add different types of ammo and shit, why not make the enemies smarter? Instead of having the player craft shit and turning them into vacuum cleaners, why not put those items you can craft in stores so their version of the barter skill actually has a purpose?
I swear to god they overcomplicate things and they waste time that could've been used to improve other aspects like the story for example
>you literally set her up on a dyke date and cuck yourself for all eternity
Clearly you played through min maxxing your beta male stats. When she starts being gay you can tell her to shut up and get on the ship.
It was too woke for its time
>play a female character
>get parvati
>shes cute
>need to set parvati up on a lesbian date with a cute asian woman
>do it
>its cute
I love yuri
I wanted to like this game so bad.
The entire playthrough i was trying to convince myself i was enjoying it, but by the end i just felt empty.
Maybe new Vegas was a fluke, and obsidian is actually trash.
Like this was current gen, why were there a maximum of 5 npcs in any given area? And why was everything so lifeless and empty? The armor and weapons meant nothing, you find the same sets everywhere.
Even the "rpg" elements were worthless because there was nothing to overcome in the game. Maxing out speech so people will let you into secret rooms means nothing when the loot is the same shit you've been piling up the whole time.
wait, this game came out? lmao
