Just marathoned the first 2 hours

It seems decent so far, when it does start to get good? I haven't even got a gun or anything or yet. The zombies seem really hard to kill.

Are you playing on hard? It's kinda unfun on singleplayer. hard on coop is the way to go. otherwise just go normal and have fun.
Also guns completely destroy the balance

wait till you can dropkick zombies off the roofs
at the end of the game and in the Following, you are a literal god

>marathoned the first 2 hours

bro what

I was playing with m+kb first but controller seems better with the parkour elements. whats better

you don"t get guns until like 2/3ds of the way and even then the variety of weapons consists of like 2 similar looking handguns and 2 similar looking rifles and nothing else

>marathoned 2 hours
That isn't a fucking marathon you moron.
And the game + DLC is 60 hours long. Also guns cause running zombies to spawn because they are loud.

Never ever. It's a dull game about having to use rare mods on shitty stuff just to deal good damage and then having to swap out gear anyway, because everything levels up with you and so your souped up MEGACOCK weapon will quickly begin to suck shit no matter how much you care for it. So you end up performing a shitload of one-hit kill animations, over and over and over.

It's a massively overrated game. Poorly designed shit that presents itself as a scavenging/survival kind of thing but then reveals that anything is disposable and meaningless.

controller

Also that shit about being noisy is a fucking lie too. At some point the game will start spawning running zombies just because it wants to, no matter how careful you are. This guy is a retard that got tricked by dumb shit

you find weapons everywhere fuckhead
and the game is rather underrated.

mouse and keyboard
don'6g listen to this faggot

Kinda hope they will either remove or greatly reduce weapon degradation, I feel zero urge to dive into expensive weapon creation and customization when I know that it's fucked a couple-dozen smashed zombie skulls later. A baseball bat for example is meant to slam into shit hundreds if not thousands of times and still hold together, same with any axe or cleaver that doesn't come from a fucking bargain bin. I could see bladed weapons getting dull and needing re-sharpening after a hundred chops or something, but not shattering into useless trash after just a few fights.

>It seems decent so far, when it does start to get good?
it's actually all downhill from about where you're at right now

Runners tend to randomly spawn even without noise, yeah, but gunshots and explosions nearly always cause them to spawn.
Weapon creation will never be a major expense. I spent the entirety of Awakening just slapping together Angel Swords and Bolter weapons because I had so much scrap sitting around. I never bothered with the mod system, though. Maybe it's worthwhile for the super-unique event items that can't be destroyed.

This kind of invertebrate retard slug made out of trashbags is the kind of mongoloid that likes Dying Light. Nice reading comprehension, tard.

>play up to the point where you have to go to some place at night
>super fast berserker zombies start chasing you
>can't remember the route back to base
>die
>never play again

is it worth picking up again?

It never evolves past that so not really.

Only if the gameplay loop keeps you happy.

you're a pussy and you probably cant handle it if thats the case

OP here. That was the last part I just beat lol. Just sprinted the fuck to base but got whacked from behind a couple of times, kinda sp00ky

Just sleep and skip night portions if they bother you that much. There's probably less than 5 missions in the whole game (The Following included) that force you to play at night.

>when it does start to get good?
When you unlock the grappling hook and it turns into a Spider-Man simulator with zombies.

>like the co-op mode
>take five seconds too long to sleep
>lol, Night Hunter time
>have to opt out of playing the Tale of the Tunnel Troll every time I start the game up

For how much it changes night gameplay, it really should just be its own gamemode instead of an invasion thing.

A pussy for how? I got caught by things that kill me fast, didn't say I got scared.

There are smgs, shotguns, and crossbows, too. You can get a handgun in the first hour if you know where to look.

Don't worry once you get some parkour upgrades and better weapon the game goes into permament easymode no matter what diffficulty you started with cause the fast zombies die out and you can ignore zombies for good.

>one-hit kill animations.

Pretty much this. Can’t use guns because it just attracts virals, and compared to melee weapons it’s a whole lot easier to just jump on a car or dumpster and curb stomp every zombie for a guaranteed OHK. The giganigs and night guys you just swooce or run away from.

That was my experience playing it Solo Nightmare at least. I ~98%ed it, just had a few night races to do when I ended up losing interest. Granted this is before they went hog-wild on content updates so I’m probably way behind now.

>marathoned
>2 hours
bruh

Play on hard or do missions at night or you'll literally never finish unlocking a skill tree. I played normal and never unlocked the most powerful skills despite finishing every mission and sidequest for the entire main game and dlc.

When you get the grapple. And combine it with your strongest crafted weapon.

You just suck hard at the fucking game dude, looting airdrops gets you mad xp

>want to play this game
>bought it on Steam
>play it solo for a while
>heard on vee I should play co-op
>ok
>want to play co-op
>no co-op to join
>repeat this for a few days
>finally, one coop to join
>join the coop
>after few minutes host quit
>...
>continue playing game solo
>uninstall the game after the pit

Is anybody actually playing this game?

Best zombie game ever made IMO
Also the comfiest
>tfw when your room at the tower actually improves through the game

Mouse and keyboard, learn to fucking play games

>mfw lack dexterity

>coop with randoms

The friendless losers strike again

M+KB is definitely the way to go. Once you get chased by volatiles, you'll need the faster camera movement. DL is a good ass game, any of you faggots want to coop up?

I do on PS4

Enemies don't level up with you though. You become considerably stronger than everything else as you reach the end of the game.
Do the Bozak DLC and get the bow. That shit is essential.

Holy fuck you're bad

Just turn it off bro. It's in the options.

Zombies level up with campaign progression.

Who nuke 'em all here?

For me once you get the dropkick and Judo throw. Dont listen to , hard is the way to go. You appreciate how strong you get later so much more and the early hours of having to outsmart zombies and use traps and explosives is super engaging imo.

They don't though. Enemies don't even have 'levels' in this game, only you and your weapons.

They level down. They go from super fast, infinite spawning, infinite sight range, horde spawning hyper mobile, unkillable insane annoyance to a piece of scenery you can completely ignore.

Bruh, played on hard from a clean slate. Its easy to unlock everything. Learn to use your fucking head.

Once you unlock the judo throw it solves makes encounters a breeze. Luring up runners to a high spot and throwing them off the side of a building is absolutely hilarious.

The weapons you start getting mid game are insanely good as well.

>zombies spawning behind you in a room you've already cleared
>zombies spam grabbing you
>can zipline to things you can't grab so you fall to your death
>dead island fetch quests but even worse
into the trash this goes

How is the gameplay loop in this, bros? Any other Dyinglightlikes?

press buttons on keyboard, watch animation happen.
