The knife in REmake3 is so much better than REmake2, because it is unbreakable and not a defense item...

>the knife in REmake3 is so much better than REmake2, because it is unbreakable and not a defense item, git gud at dodging fag
>decide to play RE1, there are literally of fucking daggers all over the map that you can use when you are grabbed
I like the dodge in RE3, but the knife and defensive item mechanic in RE2 were better. Knife a shit, even the people doing speed runs in RE3 ditch the knife early as fuck into the game because it just wastes inventory space and if you wanted it to break boxes you might as well just carry the handgun that takes up the same inventory space and not carry any extra mags. Also it is a shame they are going straight to RE4make and not doing REmakemake, RE0make, and RECVantitrannymake

The knife is definitely way less satisfying to use than in RE2make.
And it's pretty much only useful against downed zombies. Active zombies will immediately grab you, every other enemy type will wreck your shit, and it's fucking useless against Nemesis.

Naah it feels way better in REmake 2.

Im sorry user i don't agree re2 and re3 are completely different games from both a gameplay and atmospheric sense.
They ruined it with the carlos sections, what the fuck kind of tension can you have when you just machine gun them down with your essentially unlimited ammo gun?
Re2s knife mechanics were good for it being a survival horror game and being incredibly closed space. Re3s are great for it being wide open and much denser.

would you prefer to play the carlos sections without the rifle?

No you dont understand, there's no tension. He's an action game character, he literally says "I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS"!! In the hospital. You can just gun down hunters too they just zoom around ffs.
Re2 is a by the books re game
Re3 is an action game

There was one hunter in the hospital that was a pain. Did you play on the higher difficulties?

Yes i beat it on hardcore and stopped halfway through. Nightmare, which hunter are you talking about?

The last fucker after you get the antidote before you give it to jill, where you can just run by him. Pretty sure most of my deaths my first play through were to him and to the head falling off and rolling on me

RE3 has always been an action game, retard.

You're literally describing the original game here you fucking idiot.

>They ruined it with the carlos sections, what the fuck kind of tension can you have when you just machine gun them down with your essentially unlimited ammo gun?
You're literally describing the Carlos section in both games.

Really? Huh. I guess i never had an issue with them.
Yeah my point is that you simply cant compare, the two games they're completely different from both a mechanical and presentation sense.
The knife mechanics are emblematic of this.
Re2s knife is limited because you need it to get past cramped hallways.
Re3s isn't because wtf are you doing getting grabbed the enviroment is wide open

>Really? Huh. I guess i never had an issue with them.
my issue was I kept trying to kill him and for some reason he wouldn't die and kept one hitting me. He was the only hunter to one hit me all game

The originals were better. It went to shit when they introduced grenades. It wasn't even survival horror anymore at that point.

>playing REmake
>mfw fags think this game is superior to RE4, REmake 2, REmake 3, or revelations

The Knife in RE2 is more busted. It kills bosses faster than guns.

>knife damage somehow got tied to FPS
kek

How's the flame knife? Does it FLAME ON?!

good for finishing off zombies when you don't want to stick around too long

Tangential related to this, does anyone else wish they bring back the magazine mechanic from Outbreak? I like that you had to recharge a magazine after you expended all the rounds in it. If you were out of spare charged magazines and needed to reload that mechanic made combat real dicey and really encouraged melee.

Perfecr dodge knife attack does really good damage

For decades now japanese devs do this for some reason.

Why aint this shit cracked yet

have you ever tried to do RE4 QTE at over 30fps? shit fucking sucks

Only brainlets think it’s inferior to those shitty games

Its just RE4 tards who act like that's only game in the series because they can't into fixed camera and tank controls

I just started REmake today, what's the knife useful for? I've only been using it to check downed zombies.

How the fuck can anyone say the knife is better in REmake3?
You could finish the entire game with nothing but the knife in REmake2, good fucking luck doing it in REmake3. It does fuckall damage to enemies unless you perfect dodge and even then, it's weak as shit.
I tried beating Nemesis with the knife, it can't be done. It takes a fucking hour and a half for the earlier fights and the last fight is simply impossible because you can't reach the weakspots.

It’s really good for killing spiders, but there’s none in the game you really have to kill. Bit of a spoiler if you haven’t played the original game but there’s a spider boss later on in the game and you get a flamethrower for that area to kill it with as Chris and as Jill it’s a bit too annoying to knife if you don’t know what you’re doing so you should just use a gun anyway

Maybe some experts know better uses of the knife but to me it’s just an item to use when you want a challenge and/or want to save ammo.

There's a knife only run strat

I've never played any of the OG three before, this one is kicking my ass but it's really good. I'm just fucking myself by picking stuff up I can't use or put back, the lack of item boxes is killing me, it's so long till you find the first one in the room with the gas can thing.

That's not the first one. There's one inside Moon's doughnuts.

I'm not playing three, I'm playing one.

That’s how everyone is on a first playthrough, don’t worry. Are you playing as Chris or Jill? If you find yourself passing through certain areas a lot the best piece of advice I can give you is to light the zombies you’ve killed there on fire. Trust me.

Here check this out to get an idea of how to play the game
