this is the only series where i think its fine to just watch a playthrough on youtube. yoko taro makes interesting worlds and stories, but the gameplay in every single game hes touched is fucking abysmal

I don't fucking understand, the missions where you fly are fine, but the ground missions just make me want to die.
It's use the same combos, every time because if you use anything else you're gonna get crowded and every enemy is so spngey that you have to knock them down to combo them but it's just the same.
And the majority of these mother fuckers you have to kill are also magic resistant, so you get punished for even using magic OR the dragon against them and even using the dragons on these missions does like no damage if you happen to get enemies that aren't vulnerable to magic, along with the fucking mother fuckers that shoot you down so fucking fast

exactly. which makes it terrible. the levels are 3x as big too. So, you're literally just holding forward the whole time on ground levels.

I wanted this series to be good. I was waiting like fuck for D3. But it was literal vapor ware. Then I remembered anytime the game was shown off, it was all just cut scenes.
It reminded me of one of those dreams where you're inching closer to a love interest and you wake up and they're gone forever

I guess watch the cutscenes movie first then Clemps if the any of the plot is lost on you

Nier is fine, Drakengard 3 is fine, but holy fuck playing Drakengard 1 makes me want to kill myself

This, when I was getting into the series and asked you fucks how to get into it you told me to read DarkId's LP and I did that but after a while I decided to play through the game and I liked the game much more after that. If you don't play it you really lose the majority of the oppressing, cruel, monotone feeling which is a big part of DoD1's appeal.
