The fight was fine. The Pursuit system and her drops were trash, and those aren't coming back.
I look forward to actually getting to hunt her like a normal ass monster this time.

I had a solid run up through that month long festival before Iceborne to catch up, and Iceborne itself gave me 100+ hours, and even though GL was great compared to AT monsters, grinding GL mats and siege monsters for random weapons is something I don't like. Didn't even come back for my boy Raging Brachy.

By not going ultra hard on it. I play with friends a couple nights a week, sometimes on my own if I'm bored. More often now that everyone is stuck at home.

No, it was not fine. It was literal fucking garbage, you mental midget. First phase is you literally just truding through a boring cave and running after it, 99% scripted. Then there is some boring semi-fight where she just rolls around and sometimes shits out lava puddles. In the lava cave it even gets worse because she constantly charges which a) isn't dangerous and b) not satisfying to capitalize on in any way.

Only the absolute last zone somewhat resembles a decent MH fight with nice openings and actual structure...at least when head-sniping with GS or Hammer, otherwise it's just a pinata.

With Lance if you hop then guard dash back you'll only get hit once
This applies for most multi-hit AOEs.

I enjoyed the last fight, but with her 2 prominent attacks being giant body roll and giant fire breath aoe, I'm afraid this fight will be annoying if given the MR treatment. Looks like another job for sticky ammo.

the issue is you have to be totally ready for that, if you accidentally do a regular counter you get fucked in the ass by just about every single attack that electrifies the water, and a few of them happen very quickly

You can see her attacks in the trailer. She got some new breath attacks and a big bellyflop.

Eh even if you do make the wrong call the chip damage is only severe on the nova and you have a ton of time to react to that.

As someone who primarily used S.Jho's LBG and sticky ammo with the Narga armor and hasn't played since just before Rajang dropped, is it still a decent enough way to hunt?

the worse part is waterblight on every single attack and getting knocked back, because once you do get knocked back it tends to zone you out with waterbeams and shit

If you equip a Crisis jewel, Waterblight and Iceblight are more of a benefit than a problem. Or just eat for elemental resist it'll do more for you in that fight than eating for attack will if you're having issues.

I only ever eat for elemental resist at this point in the game but it's hard to get water resist above 10. isn't waterblight is still really bad even with resuscitate active? especially for blocking weapons
