Isn't it sort of the whole point of Resident Evil to be campy? It's a cheesy horror movie aesthetic. It's like saying "Yeah, DMC is alright, but Dante is too flippant, he should be afraid of those monsters". Like, taking a realist approach would actively make these games worse.
