emulate imo. i think director's cut has both the OG game and the arranged mode, but it also forces auto aim where as the og game you didn't have auto aim iirc. i'd just emulate the ps1

k. i just got the epsxe emulator is dat gud?

it's fine yeah. i use retroarch with beetle psx hw core, with epsxe installed as a backup for the 1% of games that don't play nice with retroarch. either is fine for RE

...

Emulate the DS version so you can skip those fucking loading screens.

The game is supposed to have auto aim. They only cut it out of the US release because Capcom are tards.

ds version is cool but looks nothing like the og really, the graphics aren't as nice, and it's just not the original. also the load screen doors are soulful

maybe so but for a lot of people that's what they played originally, and it adds some challenge

>also the load screen doors are soulful
Cringe and lowIQpilled. A loading screen is a loading screen, faggot. Fuck em.

nope, it's disguised well and added to the atmosphere

>disguised well
You're a fucking moron.

dont get the original ps1 usa/eur release, it had its difficulty jacked up and auto aim removed solely to make sure people couldnt just beat it during a rental period. directors cut is better but still isnt uncut, though arrange mode is cool i guess.

best version is pc with rebirth dll mod. original japanese difficulty, quickturn enabled, no cut content (full color/gore fmv, limbs/heads dont disappear when they hit the floor, etc), supports xinput

you are the one who is the moron and has no appreciation for good game design

Yes, I too, love sitting there and doing nothing for five seconds every time I want to enter another room. It's too high IQ for me to understand.

, oh yea and skippable doors

>quickturn enabled
game did not have that until res evil 3 no? or maybe 2? surely not 1, sounds like modded bs. i do wish ps1 version had the uncut intro cinematic though

quickturn is present in the re1 beta versions. if you want to look at it as "mod bs" then you can disable it.

all RE games are meant to have auto aim

Don't play the DS version since it ruins everything by adding quick turn, knife button and letting you skip door animations. Play the ps1 for the true experience and never look back.

if you wanna play the original re1, play the original re1, i don't care what people think each game was meant to have or what betas had or whatever, that's irrelevant

Shut up, bitch

>extra difficulty for scummy reasons is the true experience, not the actual japanese release made by the actual japanese developer
>loading screens are soulful and i should not even have the option of skipping them should i want to
>i like my media censored

>Not using your imagination to raise your levels of dopamine and adrenaline while you hear the door opening

I bet that you preoredered cybertranny 2077 lul

OP here so I got it running just fine with epsx or whatever, but there's some slight audio skipping/lag whatever it is. Any advice for that? Apart from that it runs great.

>>He doesn`t crack his fingers, flexes his muscles and turns his neck while he prepares to fight evil
Yeah I don't do that either because I'm not retarded. The door animations fucking suck and are tedious, slow shit down. God bless sourcenext port with rebirth patch for Resident Evil 2 on PC that allows you to skip them if you want to, which of course every sane person does.

could not get more soulless if you tried. i feel bad for you honestly

I finally see it

I feel sorry for you saving faggot shit like that on your computer. Feel bad for your face, too, and your hopeless parents.

could try switching audio plugins in the settings, or make sure you have the framerate limiter set to auto

thanks I'll try

How's it soulless? It's literally the upgraded Gamecube version.

>240i fmv > 480p fmv
>dont let me skip the doors i cant control myself
>wobblygons = soul

IMO Deadly Silence is the best way to play RE1. Mostly because even as a /k/id the knife taking up a slot bothered me. The GC ports are the best way to play 2 & 3. Wii is the best way to play RE4. 5 and beyond doesn't really matter, I own several of the most recent games on multiple systems and don't see much of a difference other than that I can run games at several hundred FPS on my PC but my display doesn't register that so there's not much point. I guess modding if you're into that.

deadly silence has slightly better character models with shittier background textures and fmvs. not worth it imo
