>5 star island
>is always Japanese themed
Is this really the best you can do in this game?
5 star island
Yes
Bump
I went for a shaolin theme complete with obstacle course. 36 obstacles for my 36 chambers
I have 5 stars and it's not Japanese themed. You are pretty limited in your choices and because the cherry blossom season only just ended, everyone and their mother have cherry blossom furniture. Also it's a weeby customization nintendo game, what are you expecting its audience to do?
i'm expecting brutalist architecture
I'm making my town look fairly wild, like other AC games... But I wonder how I can do that and reach 5 stars.
So you can plant flowers in a wild formation around dense tree areas and squeeze in a lot of flowers without it looking too planned.
And for outside items, I head they want a lot of DIFFERENT items, so perhaps having small areas have a lot of varity, that might do it.
And I do have long tree walls on short cliff walls, so if I put fences along them, they might help my score.
I found I had to sacrifice some of the "soul" of my town and urbanize a part or two to make it. My fruit tree orchard had to become a big park with its own diner and playground before I got that 5th star.
What kind of architecture do you want next?
I don't have the game, but I saw you can have a cowboy hat. Is it possible to somehow make it "western" themed?
I'm trying to get a 5star rating by making a cozy beach town. It's tough, though. This game is easily the best one in the series but the lack of furniture is apparent as soon as you get to a certain point decorating.
neoclassical
Should I wait a year or two to get the game then?
I plan on making a 3 by 3 grid area SOMEWHAT urbanized, so the bottom left of my town, near my town center. I hope that, my fence idea, and wild flowers will be enough.
I don't TT so moving things out of my main area into their final spots is taking time.
Glad I had the forthought to keep everything compact until I got terraforming.
I have 5 stars. I just dumped a shit ton of furniture everywhere.
i got a classical gothic mirror and i'd love to turn a entire portion of the map into a giant imposing cathedral
actually getting to have a small, customization public building like a indoor restaurant or library would be a great addition. i know i can just do that to my own house but having the villagers show up in it from time to time would be neat
If you want to play the game, get it now. It's still fun
Apparently all I gotta do is "plant more flowers", but don't know how much is enough or how much variety.
Depends on how important multiplayer is to you.
There's something to be said for being part of that initial rush of players, with everyone figuring shit out together. There'll probably still be players in a year or two, but they'll be veterans so it won't feel the same
The game drowns you in Japanese architecture and furniture so it's no surprise that most people have at least some part of their island dedicated to that.
I thought she just says that to get you from 2 stars to 3?
You're at 4 stars and she's talking about flowers?
>tfw no qt victorian house to live in
>Person terraforms their island
>Pathways/Rivers/and flowers are always symmetrical and not organic looking
Why do people do this?
yes
It bothers me too. I have a mix in my terraforming. The stuff closer to the town center is more rigid and looks fucked with. Further out looks more natural despite 90% of the map being terraformed.
Mine just has a small weeby section for Drago and Rory. Other than that, I have a park, a festival, streetlights everywhere, and decorated beaches.
So, maybe there's a minimum flower count, and item count, and bridge/incline count; you reached a bunch of others, but not flowers. Makes sense.
I just hope none of this is acre based like in previous games. I can cram these items in some acres, but I don't want to do it for every acre.
>people who urbanize the shit out of their island when the premise of the game is Tom Nook selling a quiet wild island package to the villagers
>people who stack their villagers in commieblocks with no yards while making their own house a gigantic domain
fucking disgusting, derivative and soulless.
I do 99 percent of the work, I get my estate, fucker.
To expand on this point I wish there were options with cliff faces and river banks. I wish I could get some real fucking Venetian waterways going or some modern concrete cliff faces.
Celeste on island. Lot of shoting stars tonight.
If you want to come and chill code is:
3K379
Leave something on board before going away.
i'ts hard to get that natural look in terraforming. they honestly should've made terraforming like the decorating mode in your house.
It really sucks cause fencing only works in 90 degree angles.
Agreed. Degenerate tactic. I'm unfortunately in the middle of redesigning my island so everything is stuffed into the southwest portion of the map, but even then it looks nicer than what I've seen other people do.
What, you don't like laying down hundreds of pathways by hand and watching the painting animation every single time?
unironically the worst taste you can have is the taste of caring what other people do with their islands
I'd be willing to pay 10,000 nook miles for an addon that made terraforming work like the decoration mode. Something like a city planner app on your phone that can only be unlocked when you have everything unlocked for the terraforming app.
I spent at least 8 hour moving cliffs in this game already.
Only to regret it and undo it...
At least I know what I want now, but damn would I pay for a golden, IDK, hardhat.
>3 stars
>dude just put more things lmao
How do you get more furniture/recipes outside of shopping?
balloons, going into villagers houses to see if they are crafting, messages in bottles.
just ballon farm senpai
Or just the ability to hold A to charge up and flatten or raise a 3x3 grid in front of you.
any pictures?
This. I only use dirt paths, spread the houses out, and place rustic furniture items with plenty of trees and flowers. Half the towns I visit barely look like animal crossing
Its pretty easy when you pick a good initial layout, then you only need to make subtle changes to fit your plans. Just avoid straight lines in your cliffs and rivers
The fact that anons are already claiming this is the best AC game ever makes me think we have another BOTW situation.
I like botw, a lot.
but still, i think nintendo has kind created a problem here, the 3DS side devs cant catch up.
There is a drought.
To your first point, it's really hard to get a 5* rating without urbanizing. You need a bunch of shit to raise your dating.
The second one is garbage though.
There's just a lot of Japanese-inspired seasonal items right now with the young bamboo and cherry blossom stuff. You'll generally get the seasonal recipes faster than you will the non-seasonal ones.
>drought
kek
Nook literally says island development is the actual goal of the "getaway package"
>tfw can't make a little cozy city
They ought to give us a campsite that we can use, maybe on a second island. That way we can get the best of both worlds
Cool, be over soon.
>venice
>cozy
But is it rated by grid? Can you not just SUPER urbanize a TINY area, and that be enough to raise the whole town to 5 star?
Obviously, flowrs, projects, etc, all accounted for.
I havent reached endgame yet, is there a mode where you can make a new island with whatever you want or do you really need to consider the placement of everything on your normal island?
I don't like autistic "themed" islands, so I'm just planning on making a comfy Animal Crossing village instead.
What requirements does getting 5 stars have?
