honestly, i think yokai do enough damage. some bosses could use a tiny bit higher damage on some abilities but overall i think bosses just need more health. i would hope that next difficulties buff their health more and their damage less but i don't like getting my hopes up to be disappointed.

in options, untick automatically skip seen cutscenes

Yes, in game settings there's a setting for skipping already seen cutscenes automatically. Turn it off.

I just got to chapter 5 and most of my weapons proficiencies are at around level 18. When do I unlock those red nodes on the skill menus? Level 20? Kannagi on Tonfa sounds fucking nuts.

More Nioh, no abyss (yet). It was added in DLCs. DLCs are planned.

A few changed mechanics: a burst counter ability that counters specific attacks, all enemies have at least one, does high damage, like 2/3rs your life bar usually unless you counter it or just get out of the way.

All yokai now drop a soul core, a certain skill. So like the cyclops spins, the oni b buffs your weapon, etc
New dark realm, constant ki recovery lowered, yokai get moer powered, but you get more anima (power to use yokai abilities).

Living weapon is gone in favour of a new thing but it's not as powerful still nice to have.

Two new weapons: switchglaive and dual hatchets. Latter is okay, probably the wors weapon but still viable. Switchglaive has three modes: low is a quick saw cleaver like weapon, mid is a spear thingy, high is a scythe. Scales with magic.

The Abyss but it's 9,999 floors now
