Modern nostalgia trends really are just skipping the Game Boy Advance and going right to the DS, aren't they?

GBA Mini when?
The fuck you talking about?
Fuck that, gove me an official version of the Game Boy Macro
Nostalgia trends with zoomers have moved straight from the Game Boy to the DS.
GBA is probably my favorite handheld, but it really only had a 3 year lifespan crammed between 10 plus years of the original GB including Color and 8 years of DS.
The GBA was an amazing handheld.
Probably because the DS can place GBA games.
I love the Game Boy line. I'm so glad I got my hands on four Micros before reselling goblins and Twitter thots hopped on them.
Zoomer (2000) here, my first Vidya was Super Mario Advance for the SP
Because it was only the main handheld for like 3 years as opposed to the DS's 7 years
user, they didn't play it. Original DS was released nearly 16 years ago. The youngest adults today would have been 2 years old when it came out. The GBA is nothing to them.
The GBA is kind of sterile really compared to the ultra-retro aesthetics of the gameboy (notice how the gameboy color is only tangentially mentioned?), and the two-screen nature of the DS.
They still made first-party GBA games up until 2006.
And most kids had moved onto the DS at that point. That's why more people have nostalgia for the DS as opposed to the GBA
The DS has Backwards compatibility
Kill yourself zoomer.
Who cares about what zoomers are doing? Are you a zoomer who thinks they were born in the "wrong generation?"
The GBA was overall too expensive compared to what was there at the time. It was more of a Gamecube accessory than a proper handheld.
1993 retard. Didn't even have a DS until 2007
Both Consoles are Zoom ZOoM Console you fucking tard
GBA was shit, it has the distintion of being the console that featured the most debut of dead Nintendo series.
>Golden Sun
>Starfy
>Rhythm Heaven
>Mario & Luigi
>Mario vs Donkey Kong
>DK: King of Swing
>Magical Vacation
>Kuru Kuru Kururin
>bit Generations
All of these debuted on the GBA and are now dead franchises, that's how shit the console is. No staying power whatsoever.
The SNES ports still make it good.

Discontinued doesn't mean its bad
I never owned a GBA. Went right from GB, to GBC, to DS.
You can still play GBA games on DS user
ok boomer
The Gameboy was absolute trash compared to the DS and every other handheld gaming platform that evolved from it. Usually the leap between innovations isn't that massive, but for Gameboy-DS it was a meteor-sized crater. I'm so grateful the Gameboy was made for this to happen, but like a veteran who gave me freedom, I'm gonna forget about that old fuck and do my own thing.
GBA SP owner here. I'd recommend the normal GBA, unless if you got tiny hands.
The SP is a bit too small imo. They should have done a SP XL like they did with Nintendo DS
also get ez-flash for your gameboy
It got replaced by the DS after only three years on the market and half of its library consists of SNES ports
it was only active for like 3 years and it wasn't even very good
