Just started it, it's all buttersmooth 60 FPS but every ten minutes it just freezes for 5 seconds. Unacceptable.

user, watching the film is required and that can be held against the game, but the story which is about the duties, responsible and burdens of becoming/being king wrapped in a coming of age setting is actually rather deep. It's ethics just doesn't appeal to modern sensibilities despite being in a modern aesthetic is a bit tough for most kiddo's to understand.

The only thing deep is the emotional turmoil Noctis has to go through. And even that is awkwardly glossed over by a time skip he didn't intend on, not to mention sent heavily into motion via the death of a character who had ten minutes of screentime in the game and not a lot to her in the movie either. Not to mention someone he canonically didn't know for very long either. Themes and story motifs don't mean much at all if the underlying emotions and feelings put into the work feel like they've been compromised.

The storyTELLING is terrible. Not just counting what is locked behind the movie. The pacing of the game and the way the story is told is a mess even with the patched in scenes.
