The word "hollow" in Hollow Knight is actually a reference to the level design. The design of the main character is meant to represent how it feels to play the game, specifically the eyes.
Gaming facts and trivia
Got it, you dislike the game
based
Why are you so OBSESSED? Are you that autist who latches onto games and shitposts them for months? Were you the one making those threads about Pillars of Eternity?
??
I'm just sharing trivia. Go elsewhere if you intend to shitpost.
why people hate on this game so much?
you don't need to make 2-3 threads of this everyday
It's just one autistic shitposter. Ignore him and move on.
yeah i hate this game but i wont make threads for it.
La Mulana still is the better Metroidvania.
HK isn't exactly setting the bar high.
so be honest user, we've done this, what 20 times now? Why does hollow knights success offend you so much?
I was actually just shitposting.HK is much more fun to play and its more iconic.
yikes
The quarantine's been doing a number on (You), hasn't it?
>fun
Not OP, but this right here baffles me. I want to pick the brains of Hollow Knight fans. I get it, the game is pretty, it's cool, it has interesting characters. But I cannot fathom how anyone could finish it and describe it as "fun". There's just so many anti-fun elements in it that it makes me pull my hair out.
Maybe it isnt your thing.I also find it baffling how some people enjoy turn based games where the combat is snore inducing but some people enjoy it.Instead of being obsessive about it just focus on the things you enjoy.
I'll be honest, I'm a good way through Hollow Knight (beat the true final boss, only have Nightmare King Grimm, a couple of charms, and the boss rush left) and I agree theres some obnoxious parts. Soul Sanctum, the deeper parts of Deepnest with the spiders, Trial of Fools, and Delicate Flower all pissed me the hell off. When I finished that stuff it wasn't like "finally" it was more like "god fucking dammit it's about time".
I adore the artstyle, characters, and locations though. Deepnest in particular is brilliant from a visual and audio standpoint
Primal Aspids arent that bad. Just learn to Great Slash em
user what elements are anti fun? I enjoy the game and dont find any bit of it anti fun so your clarification might help.
Primarily, navigation. There's not really anything going on with the level design and there are few challenging enemy encounters. I also hate how benches are nowhere near boss rooms so I have to go through half the level again when I die to one. Why would you design a game like that? Then there's filler content like collecting essence.
>Fully upgraded nail leaves them at 1 (one) HP after one hit
Fucking aussies knew what they were doing the bloody cunts
It's an acclaimed metroidvania, by all accounts I should like it and that's why I bought it. Everything this game does is worse than other metroidvanias.
>Primarily, navigation
This is the key to the success of the game. Movement is extremely fun and easy to learn, but with a high skill ceiling. Utilizing the extremely responsive (double) jump and invincibility frames from the dash, you can do wonders. And then there's the massive and diverse map which allows you to get from one side of the world to the other in dozens of permutations that it rarely gets repetitive.
Because of this extremely good integration of fast movemement and endless world traversing, it may be the best metroidvania in twenty years.
I want to cum inside herrah the beast (young)
it creates the feeling of exploration I like and it has challenging combat with fairly tight controls.
I'll take one Hornet, please.
I've played more Metroidvania's that most of Yas Forums and Hollow Knight is among the best
fuck off back to redit, nigger
I thought she was blowing a fart cloud in the thumbnail.
>Primarily, navigation.
I never got lost except maybe in the water ways. Do you mean cornifer and the map system?
>There's not really anything going on with the level design
This i dont get, I found the looping fall back on your self level design with beautiful art direction really engaging, and how traversing the rooms change as you get more moment options rewarding. what was missing for you?
>few challenging enemy encounters
Do you mean the occasional wave fight rooms? you can skip pretty much every other fight in the game if you want.
>I also hate how benches are nowhere near boss rooms so I have to go through half the level again when I die to one.
This is fair enough, but i didnt really have a problem with a boss long enough to get discouraged. Plus the way soul works you need a few enemy's along the way to get back into fighting shape.
>Why would you design a game like that?
The soul meter encourages careful but aggressive game-play, but as a consequence you're not at full strength till you've had a fight, so putting some enemys in between you an a boss is needed to have the soul meter in the game.
>Then there's filler content like collecting essence.
Only if you try to farm essence from killing mobs, killing the dream warriors and doing spirit tree challenges is enough to get full essence.
I'd never post such things. I'm not a degenerate.
i miss user's art
coomers should be culled lol. Pathetic faggots.
I'm not a coomer, but a romantic.
you dont fully appreciate a piece of media if you havent imagined yourself nutting inside all of its principle characters
Me too. I like artists that put a bit of heft in her collar. Adds just a little bit of noir charm to it.
The difference between a lowly coomer and a connoisseur is whether they can appreciate the vanilla character designs. We're dealing with good men here.
she is my wife so no
people like this game only for the artstyle
There isn’t any shortage of that, user. Artist of has gotten a handful of non-sexual requests.
imagine cuddling her
That's a human with a mask, not a Hornet so you can take her.
