6 is literally the same game as 4, why would it be higher? Your half Lunari- I mean Esper, that's working as an evil knight for Baro- I mean the Empire, is unaware of their half-blood heritage until after they sack an unsuspecting town and break away from their evil leader to start a resistance with King Edwar- I mean Edgar, the martial artist Yan- I mean Sabin, who you find training on a mountain before being attacked and other exact cookie-cutter copies. But as you fight the evil Baron/Empire, it turns out that the Baron/Emperor isn't the true evil, it's his evil caster henchman Golbez/Kefka! And they attempt to destroy the world with the Giant of Babel/Statues of the Goddesses, etc etc. Eventually the half-blood protagonist makes contact with their people and unlocks their true power, rides an airship shaped like an actual naval ship with propellers and saves the day.

X had the best battle system in the series IMO. Turn based while still being fast paced. Varied characters with different strengths that you could swap in and out on the fly. The ability to see the turn order so you'd know when an ability would go off.
