Enemy has the same animation to start 3 different attacks...

>enemy has the same animation to start 3 different attacks, purposely designed so that if you anticipate one attack you'll get hit by the others.
>enemy chains attacks together that punish a single mistake with death
>enemy has broken hitbox that turns their entire body into damage, meaning if you happen to be standing next to them you take instant damage with no warning
>enemy has an attack that occurs literally 1/10ths of a second after the animation starts, 100% physically impossible for a man to react to
>enemy can move through walls to finish their animation
>enemy is over a minute away from the nearest bonfire, padding gametime to an excessively frustrating degree that isn't skill-based at all but simply punishes you by wasting your time
like I beat it, and I get that you can breeze through it with mostly >dodgedodgehit but also it's undeniable that there are moments which are completely unavoidable and create unfair deaths. It is impossible to know which attack an enemy will use if all 3 animations start exactly the same. It's literally rock paper scissors and you have to hope you guessed right. to make matters worse, they've purposely designed it this way. It's literally fucking RNG.

what the fuck are you talking about retard

you know exactly what I'm talking about you fucking retard, there are enemies in this game that will have 2/3 versions of an attack with the same starting animations, and the timing is designed in such a way that if you dodge one potential attack you'll get hit by the others

I love this skinny little heretic like you wouldn't believe!

Attached: karla.jpg (769x745, 106.97K)

okay name some because I literally can't think of anything from your list all on one enemy other than vordt having a hitbox his entire body size

Nice blog, bitch.

at 36:30 in the video.

That’s part of the game though. I think the design isn’t meant to be inviting in the first place, you’re supposed to be a weak being in a world of literal gods. Your only saving grace is being able to revive as many times as you want, of course these god like beings aren’t fair, that’s the point. You learn their unfairness and use your determination and ability to respawn to combat it.

Joseph Anderson is a dumb bitch and you can clearly see both of the followups are only going to be hitting you if you dodge into the boss like a retard.
Something like Pontiff would be a better comparison for that sort of instance in which he has a faster shorter range attack that's designed to catch you if you panic roll, which does limited damage but he does either a heavy slow slash or a regular speed one afterwards. None of this is specifically uncounterable, you just need to recognize safe spots distance-wise which is something he's too stupid to understand.

>enemy spams his attacks without cooldown and after your death because from software hates you
materpiece&drillmyasshole

I just wanted to say also that every single thing I complained about has video evidence
he goes on for about 10 minutes about pontiff and explains exactly what you're complaining about, maybe watch the whole video
>panic roll
the game is literally designed around rock paper scissors retard, it's not fair to train a player to dodge an attack and then immediately hit them with an attack which is designed to punish the roll.
it would be PERFECTLY fair if those two attacks had DIFFERENT animations so you knew which way to dodge, but you don't. it's a guessing game and that's bad game design.

Again, none of those are uncounterable, you are getting hit because you think rolling in ANY direction is going to save you and don't recognize there are smart ways to dodge to prevent followups.
If you're having this much trouble maybe just use a shield?

>spams dodge
>REEEE I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HIT

End your fucking life

Why do you choose to type like a tranny?

>t. 13 vigor secret meta
>t. "lol shields are for pussies (but I can't dodge either)"

Attached: 1582997684045.png (239x200, 17.45K)

noooooo you cant just criticize fromsoft games git gud :(

what is it with "dodging is the only form of defense in this game but I'm bad at it" retards
just use a fucking shield if you suck too hard to roll properly

I already beat the game shithead and considering how awful it was I don't think I'll be playing it again. this formula is obviously played-out if the developers have to cheat to kill me.
>none of those are uncounterable
bullshit, you took damage from these moves during the fight and happened to win anyway regardless, guaranteed. the only actual way to deal with this is parrying, but that's fucking retarded because you're basically forcing the parries which makes it a lot less impressive if it's literally "the only way." as far as pontiff, vordt, and champ, there is unavoidable damage with a "dodging playstyle," period. this is undeniable and you can keep saying it isn't but there's literally video evidence showing this shit so keep bullshitting

I played the first run with a shield then went to 2H greatsword for the second run and had much more fun

I can't imagine being this fucking bad at the easiest dark souls game. Just use a shield if you're too stupid to memorize attack patterns and roll accordingly.

okay joseph
>as far as pontiff, vordt, and champ, there is unavoidable damage with a "dodging playstyle," period
if you get hit by vordt regardless of playstyle once you are familiar with the game you are fucking dogshit, period
go fight him in NG+ and tell me you can't reliably dodge all of his attacks
the attacks pontiff and champ use that are faster than YOU can react to are his least damaging
quit being a fucking baby and just admit you are bad and are cowering behind an internet critic who is also equally as unskilled as you are
there's video evidence of plenty of people that aren't just speedrun autists being able to avoid all the same attacks you complain about

I can't imagine being this fucking bad at the easiest reading comprehension. just fucking read spanish if you're too stupid to memorize the syntax patterns and interpret accordingly.

These games read your inputs dont they? I've noticed this a lot when playing 2 and 3.

>gets hit by vordt
BREH. He's a fucking joke, the normal enemies in the area are more of a threat. You roll toward him for every single attack or just stand behind him because he turns so slow.
Fucking
Git
Gud

You're making excuses and blaming game design for being shit at the game you fucking ape. Dark souls 3 has its issues but this isn't one of them.

>you can react
you do not have a reaction time faster than .4 seconds, this is impossible for a man.
>avoid all the attacks you complain about
wrong, speed runners parry champ and pontiff because they know dodging is utterly unreliable and will always have a 100% chance of killing you 50% of the time, if that makes sense. you might not always run into this problem given how the AI is designed-they might decide to never do the unfair animations or you might win the fight fast enough so that it doesn't matter-but if you do run into it, it's unavoidable.
yeah most of the fight is easy until his entire body turns into damage while you're hitting him, you know, after you "roll toward him for every single attack." how dense are you exactly? so a moment which was safe for a hit "every single attack" is suddenly not safe anymore and you take damage. how will gitting gud make rock paper scissors any easier? it's always gonna be RNG in these scenarios unless you just completely abandon the main playstyle and parry instead.

you keep saying this and you've said this in different words for 3 years running, but it always has and will always be a fucking lie. so go ahead, lie again. make 5 more posts where you make this same lie. it isn't fucking true.

>.4 seconds
Absolutely nothing in the game has that fast attacks. Stop talking shit you retard.

>you do not have a reaction time faster than .4 seconds, this is impossible for a man.
The average reaction time for a person is .25 seconds and there's nothing even that fast in this game, you are so fucking full of horseshit.
Shut up you dumb faggot, go play something that caters to your frayed nerves.

Only enemies that parry you, which you can fool by charge R2s (or just doing unparryables). The rest is just AI, what they do mostly depends on your position.

pfffff have I got video evidence for you
youtu.be/2wLHbKPRgUM

you're right I did get the numbers wrong but also you're wrong because it is faster than human reaction time so fuck youuu

>I'm pressing buttons
>woooooow
>this game is shit
>terrible game design
You're basically pulling a DSP right now dude. You fucking suck at the game get over it.

currently replaying through 3 right now as a 100% encumberence fatrolling poise knight
not nearly as difficult so far as i thought it might have been considering how badly i relied on dodging in all my other playthroughs
i like it better this way, using the armor to soak up some damage and poise through the enemy attacks, feels more methodical rather than just using the roll button to avoid everything

>he actually defends taking damage from vordt
Unless you're just mindlessly mashing r1 trying to get it over with for the fiftieth time, you do not get hit by him ever.
These games might not be for you.

Attached: 1584266605674.jpg (1280x720, 176.37K)

That's a chain attack that only starts based on the previous attack.
If you know he did the previous one, you don't have to REACT to this stab. It still has a windup shown starting from the direct ending of the previous attack where his wrist is still behind him preparing the stab.
Are you honestly comparing the second stage of a combo attack to something like a single attack with no windup?

Attached: 1321758816509.png (224x218, 3.22K)

so consider the fact that I've been narrowing down why this is bad game design for 3 years now, and I've dealt with people like you every inch of the way, I've come to an almost scientific proof of why this is the case, down to proving without a shadow of a doubt that attacks come before a man's eye can physically react, and how enemies will have such an unfair arsenal of attacks that they have a "solution" to every dodge, making encounters RNG based. this is a matter of math, not opinion. This is not "gitting gud," this is proving, mathematically, that certain game design is literally not reasonable to expect from people to deal with. So you can keep on keeping on with this mantra but we'll just keep getting better at explaining why it's bullshit

There is more context you can use than just the telegraph to figure out which move an enemy will pick.
Your distance from them is a big factor.
Close?
Expect longer combo.
Farther?
Expect shorter combo.

i love how crybabbies complain about Dark Souls games as "muh hard game" shit was so easy that i beat some bosses on first attempt. Play Demon Souls then come back to me.

he literally explains in the video exactly why you're wrong if you kept watching. he can choose to that attack, or he can choose to do a delayed version, or he can choose to do an extra delayed version, MEANING, UNDENIABLY, WITH UNDENIABLE MATHMETICAL EVIDENCE, that you are forced into a RANDOM CHANCE ENCOUNTER where the only solution to preventing damage is the incorrect solution to dodging another type of damage that is impossible to distinguish from the first.
period.
fuck everyone on Yas Forums for being so obtusely unreasonable in their desperate quest to feel superior to other people even though they're fat foreveralone virgins

>putting in all this effort
>still suck at the game

Attached: 1533071484598.gif (500x361, 2.04M)

this entire spergfest critique can be solved once you realize that your iframe is shorter than your dodge duration and hes fucking retarded for not realizing this. a dodge isnt mean to make you invulnerable for its entire duration

>consider the fact that I am right and you are wrong

holy shit kill yourself

this is just more guesswork adding to an already convoluted game of guess work, you're not helping your argument and those factors aren't always true.

>beat game multiple times just to prove that it's easy once you learn that the dodging playstyle is impossible to perfect
>people still call you bad when you provide mathematical evidence
pathetic

>eceleb garbage
lol of course ds3 detractors can't make opinions by themselves

Try blocking
Try dark damage against frost enemies

Imagine being so bad at a game that you dedicate your time to trying to convince others that you aren't bad but the game is cheating instead of actually getting better

>dont understand iframes
>rage and sperg
DS2 literally was supposed to teach you about iframes not lasting the entire duration of the roll until you up your adaptability so you couldnt just spam roll like in ds1

>just try the other playstyle lmao
that's what everyone does. there are enemies that are often impossible to dodge or predict in this game so greatsword poise builds or tank builds with shields are the only reliable way through them. this game is incredibly frustrating with a dodge character and super fun with a greatsword poise/shield character, and it seems that everyone has come to this consensus but their desire to insult someone always overrides any incentive to level with people

>people still don't know most fast hitting enemies get stunned if they hit your shield
>people still don't use their weapon art attacks with innate hyperarmor

Again, these are distinctly separate patterns he does. I still REALLY don't understand why you are falling back to this video because he, like you, is too stupid to consider these attacks as part of a SEQUENCE.
Left hand dash attack, right hand quick attack, finisher.
Right hand normal slash, left quick, finisher.
The only thing you need to notice is the last attack in the chain which is going to be either the slow or fast one.

Dark Souls is so fucking easy, lmao.
If you want an actual hard game where you don't get 3 trillion I-Frames at the press of a button, play Monster Hunter

I am just saying use the tools the game gives you. Dark buffs, alluring skulls, bombs, weapon arts

You're a fucking retard if you're trying to roll through literally every attack in the game though. There's like 3 dozen shields in the game. Pick one to use against certain attacks and enemies you buffoon.

The average human reaction time is .25 but your monitor, the controller you're using, refresh rate, all that shit effects how fast you can react in a game.

>start roll to dodge attack A
>get hit by attack B
>start roll to dodge attack B
>get hit by attack C
>start roll to dodge attack C
>get hit by attack A
people still make "just use another build/playstyle" posts 3 years later even though it misses the point
>distinctly separate patterns
completely wrong, but you lie in literally every post so why not continue the pattern.
>left hand dash attack, right hand quick attack, finisher
>left hand dash attack, right hand slow attack, finisher
>left hand dash attack, right hand even slower attack, finisher
meaning, despite your desperate attempts to avoid the undeniable logical fallacy in your reasoning, that you can potentially be punished no matter what you choose, but you're still, after 3 years, either too stupid to see that or-far more likely-simply enjoying the spectacle of being obtuse anonymously
