Resident Evil

Resident Evil
>Innovative horror game and early metroidvania, simple but intuitive gameplay that still holds up over time
Resident Evil 2
>Refinement of its predecessor, better visuals, expands the story, has some genuinely dramatic character moments
Resident Evil 3
>Introduced a stalker mechanic, more linear but player choice and random elements gave it extra replay value
Resident Evil 4
>Innovated nothing, game is practically a hallway, forgoes survival elements to be a generic TPS, tone deaf writing, story is completely removed from the rest of the series, literally everything it does is improved in the following game

What is it about 4 that normalfags love so much? And why would they be on edge about a remake in development?

RE4 single handedly innovated the 3rd person shooter genre.

>using Wikipedia as a fucking source

Did you miss all of grade school you dunce?

keep seething. RE4 is one of the most influential games of all time.

when or where did you go to school when you couldnt use wikipedia as a source, lol

>metroidvania
Lmfao no. Key items are not the same as acquiring abilities. Next people will tell me Doom is a metroidvania because finding bigger guns allows you to advance easier and keys open doors....

>NOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T USE CORRECT INFORMATION AS A SOURCE YOU HAVE TO LINK REDDIT POSTS WITH TONS OF UPVOTES AS A CREDIBLE SOURCE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>RE4 inspired a bunch of trendy movie games
Is this supposed to be impressive?

>Generic TPS
RE4 is the TPS template most TPS use for the last 15 years.
RE4 is the most influential game in the series
>tone deaf writing
Nigger what does that even mean?
>story is completely removed from the series
Same with RE3
Also I love how you think RNG counts more as replayable than RE3 having a bunch of different weapons to choose from, an extra campaign, unlockables for new game plus, and a new and improved mercenaries.
Stay mad, bitch boi.

I don't give a shit about any Resident Evil, I'm just mad he thought he could use Wikipedia as an authoritative source.

Where did you go to school that you could? That place needs to be shut the fuck down.

>innovated nothing
neck yourself you fucking halfwit infant

RE4 innovated everything
it's the most influential RE game of all time

Cope

>Key items are not the same as acquiring abilities
dey kinda are do...

Holy shit, those games it inspired
>Gears of War
Shit game
>Batman Arkham
Literally braindead game that plays itself
>Dead Space
Gears of War but your character is a fridge
>Ratchet and Clank Future
The beginning of the end
>Fallout
haahahahahah
>Uncharted
Shit movie game
>Mass Effect
Shit game (though that's more to blame on shit devs than anything)
>The Last of Us
Shit movie game
>Silent Hill Homecoming
hahahahahahahhahahaha
>Alone in the Dark (2008)
hhaahahahahahahahahah

RE4 is the most influential game in the series
Its the second one...RE1 Was The survivor horror template.
Danm RE is a underrated icon for the game industry

Not him, but
>unlockables for new game plus
RE3 had that
>new and improved Mercenaries
RE4 Mercs was the worst of all 4.

>Resident Evil 2 has some genuinely dramatic character moments
No one can possibly be this retarded

It has the cutest girl though

I don't like the influence Re4 had on the series, I really dont, I could go on and on about that. I also don't like the newage RE fans and old fans with no standards who have ADHD, so much so that anything that isn't gunz blazing 420 bongsmoke braindead bullspraying is "bad" or "dated gameplay", because it has camera angles their brains cant comprehend that took me 10 mins to learn as a child.

But to deny that Re4 was a good game, and to deny that it had some kind of influences (some positive) is just outright ignoring reality or trolling. OP is a fag as usual.

>dead space is gears of war
You are the most retarded poster in this thread

It bored me just as much.

>generic TPS
Oh, the genre that Resident Evil 4 created. I see.

Alone in the dark was the survivor horror tem template.

>RE5 improved what RE4 did
yeah having a retarded A.I.companion playing solo sure is an improvement

>RE1 coined the term Survival Horror
>RE4 Set the template for third person action games
>RE7 Actually made me interested in VR

Is there a more ludo franchise Than RE?
i think only Mario get close by setting the standard to the platforming genre not once but twice

Wasn't RE4 supposed to be a non-RE game about ghosts? Would it have been as influential and popular if it wasn't tied to the RE series, given its gameplay and quality stayed the same? Would people stop bitching about the "decline" of the RE franchise if this was the case?

But RE is the one that launched the term and perfected it
Alone in the Dark is forgotten long ago

watch your mouth when you speak of the original dead space you inbred

hello capcom

>RE1
>innovative
Alone in the Dark says hi.

>innovated nothing
Once again resident evil contrarians prove to be legitimately retarded, i bet you think 0 is good too

Attached: 1585886279803.jpg (206x290, 26.22K)

RE1 just took Alone in the Dark and made it better.
If you want to talking innovating the genre as a whole, than SH is probably more influential.
