Another step taken to make vidya a safespace

>can’t sell lootboxes or you’ll be slapped by the ESRB
It’s so great that they’re slowly taking away the free market from video games

Good. Fuck lootboxes.

I bet resetcommies are celebrating
Like this one

>t. EA
also OP is an egregious cum gurgling faggot. Lootboxes and their variants are cancer.

>WAAAAAAAAAH WHY ARE REGULATION AGENCIES STEPPING IN NOW!!!!

>devs and publishers given ample time and opportunities to do things the easy way to regulate themselves
>they do nothing about it
>now we have to do things the hard way and get the government/regulatory agencies involved
Sucks to be them, they had their chances

What exactly is the problem here? It’s just a warning for parents, like every other ESRB label.

>Lootboxes are now T rated
Who cares? The only rating that actually matters is M because many stores require an ID to purchase those.

Spineless fucks, they previously said disclosure wasn't necessary.
I wonder what changed.

When was the last time anyone other than a non-church going Christian mother gave a fuck about the ESRB rating of a video game?

>147

I hope this is real
Fuck DLC, fuck lootboxes and fuck corporate niggers.

Literally zero games were ruined by lootboxes, prove me wrong.

>whales
>$50 a month

When was this infograph done? That's fucking nothing, there are people who spend $500-$1000 per month of dumb lootbox bullshit

>what do you mean I can’t scam people and objectively lower the quality of my product?
Libertarians are brain damaged boot lickers.

The numbers don't matter as much as the percentages.
What you need to know is that 4% of players - whales and superwhales, are fucking up video game monetization for the 96% who don't spend.
Which is why regulation is needed, because no matter how little you spend some oil baron is happy to fuck up your favorite industry.

Great

NOOOOO WHY WON'T YOU LET ME RELEASE A DEADLY VIRUS SO I CAN SELL THE CURE THIS IS COMMUNISM

Government intervention became a real possibility. Hopefully this is just a temporary attempt at damage control before lootbox garbage gets the AO kiss of death.

Nobody is preventing you from buying it though

i hate commies, but i hate lootbox even more

it was never a free market

BASED

>or you’ll be slapped by the ESRB
Literally worthless, no parent reads that shit and no employee gives a fuck enough to warn them. There's a reason if 90% of the GTA playerbase is 11yo kids.
The only ones who fear the rating are ecchi game games for some reason.

bootlicker

Because it's really, really hard to earn an AO for violence. I mean look at Doom 2016/Eternal, those are over the top and still are only M. Like the only major game that has issues with violence impacting ratings is mortal kombat, and only in Japan because CERO are fucking nuts.

Meanwhile it's WAY easier to get an AO for sexually explicit content

Nothing of value was lost.

Hatred was originally refused rating due to violence.
But somehow it got rated again for Switch so I don't know what's going on.

Imagine defending EA’s bullshit and not getting paid for it

parents who actually try to do their fucking job as parents.

If they're not at least giving it an automatic M for lootboxes it means nothing.

No controversy and outrage from journos

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO JUST LET CHILDREN GAMBLE
