Continuing where we left off yesterday in our semi-isolation portugal campaingn, the great library has finished in Lisbon
BABA YETU
With the military-industrial complex in Santarém up and running this city shall produce the bulk of our military from now on. We set our eyes upon a pesky barbarian foothold to the northwest.
Finished this game as Greece last night. Assyria and Spain are cunts. RIP Korea, I tried to save you.
The barbarians are rather poorly defended, but we await for a slightly larger striking force. Upon researching machinery, we have entered the medieval age and can now enjoy those gregorian chants.

>play Civ 6 on toaster
>agree with everyone online that it looks like shit
>buy an actual computer
>game looks good
Oh.
It looks like shit because of the art direction, not the technical graphics.
Seems like some fighting is going on somewhere far away
The great scientist Aryabhata has been born in the humble fishing village of GuimarĂ£es! He shall help us research astronomy once we have knowledge of the alphabet.
We have struck a deal with the Khmer for the alphabet, and Aryabhata has shaven off 10 turns of research on astronomy. We ready up some carracks to explore the vast unknown beyond the ocean. Soon with the great lighthouse, our numerous coastal cities and foreign overseas trade routes our commerce output should explode.
Our forces gather outside the Barbarian city, ready to strike on the next turn.
Taking a bit more casualties than expected, we have capture the barbarian city of Ghuzz
what kind of map are you playing on user?
Fractal, temperate, medium sea level, standard size.
Ah okay
is there a demographics tab in civ4 that shows literacy and such of your civilization?
Yes
Fucking moron that's not why it looks like shit
nice, 2million people living in your 10th century nation then.
I was playing Civ6 coop and added some demographics mod which translated pops into a population number, makes it a bit more fun for me to have an idea of how many millions of people actually live in my empire.
The carracks are off to explore the world!
we have made contact with the japanese!
The japanese in their usual manner are reluctant to establish trade connections, but we are able to tell that they have managed to capture Philadelphia from the Americans.
i forget how beauty is pure vanillia 4
This is giving me an itch to start up a Civ4C2C campaign that will probably never finish because something fucks up and I won't bother to stack trace it to switch a 1 somewhere.
Is there a game/mod that takes place entirely in antique?
With Astronomy finished, our beaker rate went up by 20, and should rise even more once we discover more civilizations, the gregorian chants switch to classical music as we enter the renaissance.
bunch of civ games have scenarios for that

So is Civ IV considered the Yas Forums patrician choice of Civ games?
I generally found it to have some of the better AI in the Civ series.
Not in my book it isn't.
Fuck unit stacking.
pleb
I didn't actually think that the people we could blame for Firaxis/2k making every unit giants whose frontage is impossibly wide when you actually think about the scale came to Yas Forums.
For some it's Civ IV and for some it's Civ III. I personally think that Civ IV was better than III, but can understand why some like III more.
Seeing the great artist from Music still available, we decide to take a small detour to grab it. Now we shall head towards education and economics for that juicy portuguese unique building and universities.
>your eyes are wrong and I'm right now adapt my opinion as your own to bring my thoughts closer to dominion over the interwebs
Okay.
