Final Fantasy 7 Remake

English vs. Japanese voices?

Jap all the way ..everday!

I'm American, so I want my toys to speak American.

Anyone who changed the voices to Japanese is cringeworthy.

>Japanese voices
EEEEEEEEEE!?!?!?
NANI!?!?!
DESUKA
YAMEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I only change to jap whenever the english voice acting is painful to listen to. I usually find jap language annoying and not reflective of actual spoken japanese in japan.

Started with japanese but changed to english so I could turn off the annoying chat logs on the side. They also tend to talk quite a bit during combat and I'm bad at reading and mashing buttons at the same time.

I prefer being able to understand my characters rather than listen to a bunch of Japanese gibberish and their weird mannerisms.

American is not a language mutt.

English dub doesn't sync with the lips

Have you heard Zack talk?
lmao

Does Quinton Flynn still voice Reno?
I haven't played the game yet

who gives a shit?

Why did they give him tranny voice in the dub?
He sounds like an actual shota in japanese

>English dub doesn't sync with the lips
are you blind? it syncs fine

I played Crisis Core a hundred years ago if that counts. Is his english dub terrible in FF7R?

Haven't played the dub so I can't say if it's the case in game but in the trailers I'm pretty sure they had different lip syncing for different languages.

Kid sounds like a text-to-speech AI.

>have moderate Japanese knowledge
>the subtitles aren't actually a translation for the Japanese script, but for the English localization
>tfw my brain can't keep up with hearing Japanese and reading English that doesn't even match up half the time
If the Japanese was just gibberish to me it would be okay or if I was good enough at Japanese to not need any subtitles at all, but when it's like this I'll just go for full English. I'm too autistic for this shit.

I'd tell you English if not for the fact they fired the entire old English cast because of 2016 Voice Actor Strike and replaced them by children from MTV that sound like utter fucking shit, while JP voices are an all-star cast that wasn't replaced so the choice is easy.

If the dub is good I'll choose English.
If it's shit I'll pick Japanese.

Japanese because the dub is cringe as fuck and all the animations and noises are very anime so it's the only way it works.

Yeah, just awful.

yeah and thanks god the voice acting is nothing like the actual spoken language irl, that'd be stupid

>wanting to listen to high-pitched japanese gibberish and cringe-worthy gasps and grunts that doesn't fit the character's appearance at all
there is nothing that pisses me off more than weeb cunts that prefer japanese voices. english dubs on the other hand are maximum comfy and is canon, especially considering their world is multiracial and english is the international language of the real world.

That's all there is to it. I don't care if it sounds worse.

My nigga

Wrong. You use the audio that the original script was written for. So if it was a Japanese director with Japanese VAs made by a Japanese game company, it must be in Japanese. And if it was made in the West by a Western company and uses Western VAs and a Western director, you can probably skip it.

I liked the English VA in remake except for Sephiroth. The VA had no fucking emotion reading his lines it all sounded flat.
I just Imagine JAPS to sound like this tbqh

I miss sephiroths smooth eng voice.

English for "refund" I guess

I'm an absolute diehard subfag, but dubs are the way to go with this game. Only the sidequest characters are pretty ho-hum, everyone else is great.

Why didn't they rehire Newbern ? He had the perfect Voice for Sephiroth.

Japanese. I fucking can't stand the shitty dub actors or the script where every little sound and word is turned into some goddamn marvel quip. If the character is scripted to say "yes", then why not have them fucking say "yes" instead of "does the pope shit in the woods yo!" Sometimes less truly is more. Fortunately, the years of studying Japanese are finally starting to pay off and I barely have to torture my eyes or ears with this verbal diarrhea anymore.

Bonus points to the localization team for the added profanities which totally make me feel like a mature man playing mature games for mature gamers such as myself. Someone should tell these goat-shagging motherfuckers that trying so hard to look like a grown-up actually makes you look that much more like a retarded kid.
