How the fuck are you supposed to git gud at this bullshit unfair game

How the fuck are you supposed to git gud at this bullshit unfair game
>Filtered by random enemies
>Filtered by Hell Vanguard multiple times
>Filtered by Agni & Rudra multiple
>Decide to close out of game
>Have to restart the whole mission again
This is some serious next level horseshit going on, which is a shame cause this game is actually pretty fun sometimes

Are you playing the vanilla NA DMC3 release?

Because that version was deliberately bullshit to fuck over rental gamers

>S-Rank Orb and Stylish routes expect you to do secret missions
>except when they don't
>have to watch Youtube guides
>all DMD
>same routes don't work at lower difficulties
>mfw

Play it on easy. "Normal" is balls on the walls.

I'm playing the Special Edition on the Switch which at this rate is gonna rot in my digital library forever

Nice wojak bro, whats your opinion on the thread topic though?

you're playing the most modified version, the game is practically broken with style and weapon switching, stop complaining, practice and get good

Honestly the game is still good, would reccomend to absolutely anybody.
But is it worth it to get good at it in 2020?Where DMC5 exists? No, not at all, play the game complete it atleast 2 times and thats it.

If you can beat Cerberus you should have no problem with the rest of the game, just git gud

I think a lot of people forget how many terrible enemies DMC3 had.

Oh yeah completely forgot Cerberus existed, only died once because I got careless

Literally just jump it's the best move in the game

This, my first time beating Cerberus was jump Swordmaster, jump swordmaster, jump ......

I've beat Agni & Rudra on my 2nd try yesterday but I just quit after that, I was not having fun. Jumped straight to 5(already played 4)

Fag

I feel you breh, I pushed trough the game but honestly I feel DMC 1 is better than 3.

Yeah what makes DMC3 great is how Dante feels to play.
The enemies for the most part are far too gimmicky and take poor advantage of the mechanics.
>shield enemy that just flies back and forth and you have to attack its back
Compare and contrast with DMC4 which also has shield enemies (angelos) but they have actual movesets, destructible shields, and can move in formations.

Yeah, I've actually finished 1 too. I don't know why but 3 was just boring for some reason.

Vergil 3 is the best boss fight ever made but I guess you'll never see it

Work on your defense, as other anons pointed out, jump is busted in DMC games so whenever you see an enemy preparing to attack jump away

1. practice
2. hell vanguard has a clear pattern you can abuse, hit him until he tries to parry you then jump through the attack for i-frames and wreck his shit rinse and repeat
3. stand inbetween them and jump their attacks, they will literally kill themselves for you
4/5. missions in DMC3 are like 10 minutes long so i dont understand what youre complaining for

There really isn't a secret trick you just have to learn the game. Watch at enemy movements, learn their behaviors and how your moves affect them.

>switch
that explains it. You're a Nintendard. That's fine, user. You don't have to be good at DMC3. I don't expect special ed kids to be good at calculus.

>tfw just finished 3 for the first time last week
>mfw Vergil 3

I wish more boss fights took queues from that because goddamn even when he was blasting my ass I was having a great time with a big idiot smile plastered on my face. Overall his patterns arent hard but he mixes them up just enough to keep you on your toes. I didnt expect his invincibility sphere to power up when he only had like 1/3rd of his health left and I sure as all fuck didnt expect a second one when he had even less. Mad lad hits the afterburners when he's barely alive and its great.

Rank hunting is hell in these games. One mistake, restart. Not enough moves or the right moves, restart. Took a second too long on one fight, restart. I love these games but I've never cared too much about the ranks.

new DMC players need to realize this. jump is your dodge. jump is your friend. jump bailed you out of prison. jump is your brother.

I'm only playing on Switch because it's the best option at this moment, the place near me to get games for retro consoles is closed due to coronavirus, nor would they probably have DMC3 anyway, plus the Switch SE version had added benefits that seemed nice

>that music
The whole atmosphere of that fight is top tier. I hate to bring it here, but this is what 5 was sorely missing for me.

Vergil in 5 is honestly my second favorite Vergil fight, but it definitely falls short from Vergil 3

5 Vergil has too much downtime
