doom influenced all fps games to come out after (though you could argue quake and its engine had the biggest impact)
mario influenced all platformers to come out after, super mario 64 influenced all 3d games

Mario, how the fuck is this even a question? Mario Bros. not only pioneered platformers, it popularized gaming as a whole. Mario is the sole reason why most people outside Japan bought a NES. It was only recently that PC gaming became as popular as console gaming
