Is Kingdom Hearts any good? You can get all three games for $50ish Australian at the moment. Should I?

Everyone should at least try KH1. It's a quirky unique game that feels inline with Square's past one off projects. It's got a super interesting tone and atmosphere even if the gameplay itself is a little clunky. You could play it and not touch a single other game in the series and it would feel like a complete experience

If you really liked it and have an open mind, check out KH2. Mechanically the game is a straight upgrade. It's got great combat and a lot of content. The soundtrack and overall presentation are fantastic. However it completely lacks the tone and atmosphere of the first game, and this is where the plot starts to go off the rails. It's still a good game but it doesnt stand out in the same way the first game did. This is where you'll either find the rest of the series isnt really for you, or if you really dig KH2 then you're pretty safe to play the other games (though none of them life up to 2 IMO)

Yes its worth it if you never played it. I bought the set on sale earlier this year and found it to be a value based pack. Just keep in mind that 1 has the best story but the most simplistic gameplay, 2 has the best gameplay and cool fights. Birth by sleep is worth a single playthrough just so you can understand what the fuck is happening. CoM I have no goddamn opinions on. DDD is the worst of the series due to the goddamn pet raising sim and balloon throwing so just watch the cutscene. 3 is alright till postgame where you get good ass abilities so you play like kh2 sora, get the dlc if it ever goes on sale.
