2020... I am forgotten...
2020... I am forgotten
That shit's been dead since lue was yeeted
I use that shit still. Only place to find guides/pack lists for the Yugioh DS games I've been playing.
Some of them shits require a lot of bookwork to get everything done.
lol
guys check this out
gameFAGS
LOL
i used a guide yesterday for Metro LNR. I prefer the ones they have compared to the modern IGN ad ridden wiki link "guides"
Wikis replaced the Game Faqs format.
But god bless those altruistic human beings who made those insanely long text file walk-throughts.
>Wikis replaced the Game Faqs format.
I really wish they didn't, a single text file is lightweight and straight to the point, usually with a nice table of content. Wikis are full of trackers and ads, randomly have huge ass pictures that don't help and most of the time are half empty and broken.
not surprised with how post 6th gen gaming killed walkthroughs and cheat codes.
i mean, the site has been around since 1995 man, let it go as long as it wants.
I just used it today. I've always used gamefaqs as long as I can remember. The forums are a complete disaster though
Tbh I still use gamefaqs because it's faster to Ctrl+f a text document. Plus those wikis don't work properly on mobile, which is generally what I'll use to check something in game
I still use it when I have to look something up, wikis suck.
The PS4 board seems to be the only really active board and yet it's basically nothing but offtopic shitposting. At least the Switch board can manage to stay on topic.
That's because CJayC is a faggot nigger. He always ran the site like shit and got angry when he got legit criticism over the site design. And his board moderators were liberal faggots.
He is nigger faggot.
that guys reviews were based
Google still sends me there for GBA and DS games
>google some obscure question or issue i have with a game
>always leads to a gamefaqs thread with 0 replies or no real answer/solution
Those boards became dead to me when everyone got so focused on sales and review scores like they’re goddamn shareholders. I know this place does the same but this place has always been dead to me
The forums were retarded specifically when it came to multiplats. There’s no reason to make fifteen separate boards for every single port of SFIV, and every individual dlc. Was fun to claim dead boards and post porn though
The first time I visited gamefaqs was around '97 for street fighter ex cheats. True story.
fill me in? Who was lue?
Based
> Suikoden II is a top 25 game of all time
Sounds pretty based to me
Honestly the site itself is a huge repository for guides and obscure information on a fuckton of videogames and I respect it a lot for that.
But the community and board are, always have and will always be anal mucus
>google question
>topic made with your exact question
>it's a legitimate question
>"lol get gud bro that's just how the game is"
every time. or at least 90% of the time
How much karma do you fellas have?
But did you git gud?
How does GameFAQs always know what games are coming out? Even all the ones no one will ever play.
Like 2000 or so. I made my account in 2002 but I didn't sign on for years. Recently went back and started posting again last year.
unironically still a better place to find actual gameplay information than this shithole.
2003 for MvC2 movelists, some of the guides were obviously written by kids (last time I checked somebody had published a whole guide on MvC2 trash talking)
Some idiot put together a gigantic breakdown of the Street Fighter canon by game and character where the majority of the references come from Japanese guidebooks, which was my first real exposure to that type of autism
And there was a walkthrough for FF7 that just shit talked the game the whole way through that I legitimately found funny, can’t find it nowadays though, probably because there was a lot of jokes people would call homophobic or sexist
You're forgetting video guides, which are the most prevalent thing now. All of that shit with their dumb intros and nonstop commentary when the question you have could be answered in a sentence of text
Than Yas Forums for sure but some generals over at /vg/ have pretty good pastas
All the YouTube video game documentary videos I've been watching help me with my game trailers nostalgia
Most games don’t even need guides nowadays unless you’re going for an achievement. Hold up and press shoot
Guides are being censored now?
jinjos stink
>One month from hitting '? Block'
>Where did I go wrong?
>thread derailed by 2 fags arguing about something unrelated
