Why is metroidvania objectively the worst video game genre?
Metroidvania
It isn't
cool bait
got anything else? maybe something about majora's mask?
Too dumb to figure out the map, huh?
>enemies that are arbitrarily harder by having larger health pools
>lots of backtracking
>get lost when you put it down for a month and try to come back to it
>combat that's utter shit since it relies on unique items you find gradually throughout the game instead of proper mechanics
There you go.
Why are they even called metroidvania's? Alls Castlevania did was steal metroid's design in the first place, it didn't add anything to it.

Its not but I guess if exploration doesnt tickle your neurons to release dopamine, its not for you.
Not the faggot OP but if I had to guess it's because nobody thought to copy Metroid until CV did
I get a dopamine release when I murder things, especially innocent ones.
Because Castlevania made the genre actually fun to play
Why is castlevania the only series with fun metroidvanias?
#shotsfired
why does everyone like hollow knight and nobody has ever played ori and the will of the wisps when ori is clearly the better game
mostly the backtracking
i played ori around when it came out and i remember pretty much nothing about it except the big owl
probably because ori looks like shit
are you talking about the first game
Nice bait
I thought that would be the response I got, but that's just how I feel about it.
All the glow effects, the way the camera lags a little behind the character, the way the character seems more to glide than to actually run, these all repulse me.
Metroidvania was coined to distinguish the post-SOTN castlevania games from the early ones, for some reason retards started to use it to describe all metroid-derived platforms, despite, as you said, castlevania contributing nothing original to the design of the genre.
yea sorry i got the names mixed up
i have the sequel installed i'll play it eventually
the sequel is 100x better than the first one. blind forest was more of a platformer than anything.
I sounds pretty retarded, but it works fine if you want to find new games using a tag at least.
I like games like Metroid a lot more than Castlevania, but I enjoy having RPG elements from time to time I guess.
It's fine if you don't like the art style, but it's still well made and has a cohesive design.
For me, it's La Mulana.
I mean, I can tell they put a ton of work into it, but they just made it in a way that looks fucking horrible to me.
Like a scat film with high production values or something.
it's actually the best, you're just built for zooms
Fair, considering most anime looks like that to me.
Fuck I love those 3 games.
You have awful taste OP lol
>Hollow Knight vs FF shit
>Rallying in Hollow Knight communities to raise votes
>Still loses
You guys suck.
