Do you guys remember watching this movie way back when and thinking "wow, imagine if the video games looked that good."
Do you guys remember watching this movie way back when and thinking "wow, imagine if the video games looked that good."
Nobody watched that movie
I don't remember anything about this movie, i don't even remember where i saw it
I downloaded it off kazaa sometime after the DVDs came out
No, I remember watching this way back when and thinking it must have existed to serve as a tech exercise for the people at Square to learn and practice how to make good-looking CGI FMV, because every other aspect of the film was lacking.
The early 2000s were absolutely cringe. Don't change my mind.
I watched this as a kid and thinking how good it looked, didn’t understand shit. A few years later, rewatched it because I was bored, it was just shit.
So shit, it almost killed of Square and burned through all that FFVII money.
Nobody watched it in theaters. The plot sucked. The characters were barely there. The only thing it had going for it was the 3d, and even that was uncanny valley as hell.
Aerith died for this
Zoomers don’t deserve convincing, you’re a lost cause.
I liked it.
That never even entered my mind. Also what the fuck was the plot and setting of that movie and why in the fuck did they make THAT their final fantasy movie?
I enjoyed the first scene with the marines sent to retrieve the main bitch.
the armor looks badass still
Ah yes, the movie which bankrupted the studio.
All I see are people having fun.
Consider the suicide option, zoomer.
Shit you not I saw it in theaters when it came out. My godfather took me and holy fuck the look of shame on his face when we were leaving still haunts me.
I liked it as a kid. It's laughable now, though. Titan AE was much better.
I watched this once when I was a child and never understood what was it about. Never watched it again either.
wowzers, say that to my face again.
Humans bad. Earth is defending itself from technology.
Well yeah, we went to see it just because it was one of the first non-Pixar / non-children's movie. Never played a single FF game (still haven't yet), so it was a jarring experience. Even back then with the movie taste of a shitty teenager, I knew it wasn't much. Looked nice, though. I remember all the media circus they tried to spin; like that Aki Ross could be the first "virtual actress" to be used in various films. Meh.
The only FF related shit this had was someone having the name Cid
cant wait for Hideo to make the spiritual successor to this bomb
It would have been jarring even if you had played every final fantasy game
I won't argue with that
t. boomer
I remember watching it with some friends, but we started playing halfway through it and we missed the ending, kek.
If someone ever leaks or recreates the model we can finally make that a reality
It's pretty generic treehugger Final Fantasy but with bald space marines instead of magic and chocobos.
They made a nude model for her, picture's out there on google.
>check out the cast
>Alec Baldwin
>Donald Sutherland
>Steve Buscemi
What the fuck
I meant the actual file you can dump in SFM or blender
>Wanting a 100x100 resolution model.
No.
THIS.
No doubt about that.
T.YOOMER
Wasnt james woods the bad guy or something?
Should turn her into the first virtual porn actress.
Alec Baldwin.
I remember the media circus more than anything, some developers were tasked with creating the perfect woman, and that's what they gave us. Developers are gay.
I liked it
That's right. The only memorable thing about it is how forgettable it was.
I miss the time when companies would take huge risks and blow obscene amounts of money doing so
Was a pretty lame movie. I hate prophetic flashback garbage plots
That's a great point. We should honor all the executives who would go on to commit seppuku after pushing for such a gamble.
without looking it up, iirc Alec Baldwin was the love interest and Woods the villain.
I watched it in theaters. Me and my friends werent even particularly that into Final Fantasy. Don't remember anything about it. Cant imagine what my dad (who took us) thought about it.
