>installs a literal spyware that runs at boot with full admin privileges that scans everything you do on your screen when the game is not even running just so you can run this bootleg f2p chinese counter-strike knock-off from the 2000s
DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS! CONSOOM! GET EXCITED FOR SKINS! HYPE UP THE STREAMERS! CONSOOM!
This was known on day one. Why did it take until now for people to care?

Brenner14 15 points ยท6 hours ago Will you consider implementing an option to NOT run the driver at system startup by default, and prompt for a restart upon launching the game? I would feel much more comfortable compartmentalizing my play sessions in such a way that the driver is never running unless I am playing the game. RiotArkem 34 points 6 hours ago While it's not an official option you can do this yourself by uninstalling Vanguard once you're finished playing. You can find it as "Riot Vanguard" in Add/Remove programs.
When you want to play again the patcher/launcher will reinstall Vanguard automatically and you'll be asked to reboot your system.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP

And it will still be stupid popular and get tons and tons of attention. Most people simply don't care, and are willing to let things slowly side until they are being drained of every last bit of privacy and data they have. "I have nothing to hide!" among other excuses, even just not understanding or knowing, allow this behavior to continue and flourish. Basically. Fuck the majority of people.
Daniel Ortiz
True damage akali and old ekko. Wow riot bravo
Brayden Moore
Since it's a F2P garbage they WILL sell all this collected data to fuck knows who.
Also have fun when some tranny in programming knee socks finds an exploit and takes full control over your system.
Even Windows components get exploited all the time, but it's Microsoft and they patch all the vulnerabilities pretty quickly. Riot Games can't even patch their own client people been complaining about for years since it's rework.

YOU WILL ONLY INSTALL IN YOUR COMPUTER PROGRAMS PRE-APPROVED BY US
I wonder if there would be a market for making an anti-virus that doubles as a cheat engine. Basically I would be third party, develop the anti-virus that does normal anti-virus bullshit, but on top of that monitors for anti-cheat programs as well as malware.
And then I'd have a handle to it that games can connect to it. And then sell it as a service to video game companies. That way you'd be installing something useful as well, and it'd work across multiple video games.
It doesn't do much with cheats. A lot of 'businesses' for cheats will sell warranty if you get banned. They buy a bunch of cheap game keys while its on sale and if you pay the premium you get a free game whenever you get banned.
Yeah it will get the bottom of the barrel 12 year olds, but its hardly a real solution. Especially when you consider CS:GO's problem where basically everyone at high ranks has hacks. And games will be filled with people rage toggling.
Isaac Allen
No one cares, cheating is the number one problem in FPS games and intrusive anticheats like ESEA are the only way to reduce it Feel free to play cheater-strike if you want to cheat so much
Aaron Ramirez
>Ah yes, I'm okay with you having full access to everything on my computer in exchange for keeping those cheaters out of a game I'll play for a couple months at best!
Daniel Carter
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I SHOULD CARE ABOUT MY PRIVACY AND NOT BE GIVING UP MY PERSONAL DATA AND CONTROL OVER MY SYSTEM TO A COMPANY THAT WILL USE IT FOR PROFIT I JUST WANNA BE LIKE ALL THESE STREAMERS AND GO PEW PEW WAHOOO
It's not my fault you won't get to cheat in a new game.
Henry Edwards
I don't put it past Riot/China to do this at all. Do you have more links to read about it? Fuck having my screen recorded.
Kevin Wood
Gee, I hope you don't use any of the following programs: -BattleEye -Punkbuster -Google Chrome -Google -Microsoft systems -Any website -The Internet Or all your info will be taken and used for nefarious purposes!
Juan Rogers
the game will be free you just have to wait a bit. its ok to be unlucky plenty of others also didn't get a key drop
Hmm, lets go down the list. >BattleEye Nope >Punkbuster Nope >Google chrome Not my main browser, but I have a heavily customized and stripped down version for when I have to visit """modern""" sites. It can't send outward connections beyond TCP handshakes. >Google www.duckduckgo.com >Microsoft Systems Heavily customized W7 build with all ability to make outside contact stripped out, unless I permit it >Any website You know that's bullshit >The internet You know that's bullshit.
Luke Williams
This doesn't say anything about sending that data to their servers or them collecting what your computer is doing. Of course, I don't trust them to explicitly say that they would do that either. Luckily I don't play Riot shit.
Jack Miller
Here come computer illiterate niggers with no reading comprehension.
BattleEye and Punkpuster drivers only load when you run the games and automatically unload when you close them. Vanguard runs on the system level AT ALL TIMES AT RING 0 WITH FULL ADMIN PRIVILEGES you can't turn it off, you have to UNINSTALL/REINSTALL it every time.
Ryan Harris
It's just an anticheat people are sperging because it's riot it's literally made by ESEA devs, and people weren't sperging for ESEA
Henry Green
>hackers are butthurt before the game is even properly released
Michael Morales
Who gives a shit?
Grayson Brown
Anyone concerned about privacy or potential misuse or security vulnerabilities being exploited. Which is to say anyone with at least half a brain.
Thomas Foster
so?
Leo Wright
wtf bro why don't you trust them it's just an anti-cheat, everyone else does it
