As someone who's been FGC for close to 15 years now, I've found there are two types of people that hate DBFZ. Nine out of ten are retards who think the game has no neutral because they don't know how to jab out a superdash or reflect a blockstring, and one out of ten are burnt out tournament players with actual understanding of the game but find it too exhausting to play at a high level for extended periods of time. The one guy is understandable, But the nine others are unironically giant casuals who blame the game for being "too casual, no neutral, hour long blockstrings, etc" but in reality can not adapt to the type of neutral DBFZ presents. It's hard being a big brain DBFZ player on the internet.

has the same problem that skyrim has where doing random shit and killing monsters for loot is pretty fun but you get loot that makes even the strongest enemies trivial and new loot uninteresting in just a few hours.
If the customization system was more interesting and wasn't just raising your dps it could have been fun for a long time.

Massive tone shift, not a single likable person, nobody and no story that even somewhat justifies being huge thieves and murderers. Aiden is a hitman/thug turned vigilante in 1 with a predicament that makes it believable that he would turn to violence with otherwise unreasonable levels of collateral harm. Marcus is a nerd murdering people and destroying lives because he was correctly flagged as a criminal by a system and he and his buddies spend the game pranking people for lulz in between all the actual violence.
