it might be great with some better exposition, a lot of the orphanage / ultimecia stuff was very badly fleshed out in the game and a lot of the potential was squandered trying to make a final fantasy into some kinda slice of life korean soap opera

I know and I always thought that 8 was the best candidate for a remake to fix some of the more broken aspects of the game, but all that changed after the shitshow they pulled with 7R. I simply couldn't handle whatever Nomura would pull out of his chuuni ass for this game.
