Are modern RPGs too easy?
Are modern RPGs too easy?
None of this makes a game hard, just tedious.
turning your nose up at tedium is such a zoomer thing
nobody likes to have their time wasted
Video games are a waste of time no matter how you try to justify it.
>muh wasted time
stop playing videogames if you're complaining about wasted time
cringe
I'm not masochist.
video games are a fun waste of time, nobody is impressed on you sinking tons of hours on a tedious game that is just unfair rng
>joyful activities are a waste of time
literal retardation
The only hard part is the ambush. We're it not for that it could be managed extremely easily.
>get level drained
>hit the reset button before the fight ends
wow so hard.
t. beat Wizardry 1, got bored of 2.
This is how I justify heroin but nobody ever agrees
If you think they're a waste of time why are you here? You clearly don't like them.
> he has so little fun with actual gameplay that he doesn't see any difference between fun/fair challenges and this
Clearly video games aren't for you.
Fucking autism.
Ambushes aren't hard, they're RNG
lots of casual shitters on Yas Forums these days
>Cheesing
>Admitting you could have been doing much more productive things with your time means you don't like video games.
This
>RNG INSTAKILL ME WITHOUT GIVING ME A CHANCE TO FIGHT BACK SO HARD!!!
That said I’m looking for some recommendations on blobbers. Playing Class of Heroes right now.
The reason we play video games instead of productive things is because the video games usually provide some sort of enjoyable stimulation. Scenarios like what's presented in the OP are not enjoyable in the slightest, from any angle, ergo tedious and worthless. The only response they would serve is relief when they end.
Nigger the Apple ][ had a switch on it, nobody back ever beat it without resetting.
Beat this game blind.
It was fun. Not as bullshit as people make it out to be.
This is just RNG shit, though.
jesus christ how much sóy milk do you drink per day?
None, it tastes nothing like the real thing.
I can beat old games, I can beat hard games, I'm not dealing with that shit.
what version is this? All I can find is the really shitty looking one.
Japan only PS1 remake
My bigger complaint is that it makes absolutely no lore sense for those enemies to be attacking you together in a group of that composition
The fuck do the ninjas have to do with anything
It's cool.
maybe they're just hiding while the other monsters attack you
ya gotta use your imagination
The japanese versions of Wizardry don't give a shit about lore.
And that's why JRPGs suck
If i wanted to use my imagination i would play a p&p rpg instead, which would be a much better experience than this garbage
Sure it does m8. They're all enslaved by the spooky wizard. The spooky wizard has many slaves. Some of them right outta the hells because he's so powerful, see, some of them are previous would be heroes who got fucked in the dungeon. There you go, all lored up.
you can go hang yourself for all i care to be honest, i just gave one answer to your retarded complaint
>characters are basically immune to physical attacks because their AC is so high layered with an infinite amount of defensive spells and abilities
>1 spell from caster kills all of the enemies at once
Screenshots without context are so retarded, despite all of that bullshit that that dude wrote that encounter poses literally no threat to the party whatsoever. If anybody had actually played an early wizardry game they would know that.
Kill yourself
Ultima was pretty easy. Bard's Tale. Might and Magic. Bit jank at times but doesn't grind your face into the dirt. FF+precursors, Megami Tensei and DQ are perfectly playable too, for what it's worth.
Wizardry was its own thing. By dungeon sim fans, for dungeon sim fans. It's not "for" casual, adventure playthroughs, it's for the real oldschool DnD crowd where there the appeal was throwing party comps into the thresher maw to see what survived and adjusting for that.
Funnily enough I'd say that BG1 was probably harder than like 95% of classic RPGs if you follow telegraphed progression.
The SMT games are probably the closest nowadays in that trash mobs can still kill you quickly if they get the jump on you.
Based.
Seething
>The SMT games are probably the closest nowadays in that trash mobs can still kill you quickly if they get the jump on you.
I know this feel.
That's not true though.
No rpgs were always easy, what they are missing is the neat easter egg optional super bosses on the world map that you can grind your ass off and aspire to beat
Yes, but Wizardry is not representative of older RPGs. That shit was INSANE even back then.
