>Incredible franchises owned by an incredibly mismanaged company
That's not Disney
would had potentially ushered vidya into the next golden age if they hadn't constantly been infighting between their American and Japanese branches
Most of Disney's best franchises were from acquisitions. Sega's managed to churn out some absolute gold franchises even if you ignore acquisitions like Atlus.
Toshihiro Nagoshi is incredibly based, and if it weren't for him being chief of creative vision at the company SEGA probably would be in the same place as Konami.
His team is also probably why there won't be another F-Zero game. Nintendo's too salty that Sega outdid them at their own IP.
had the ball in its hands and threw it out of the court instead.
i put benis in bagina
Really fucking hope the PDS remake leak was real
Legitimately one of the worst game game companies right now
They have gold in their hands and all they do with it is wipe their ass
Interesting
one of the best Japanese developers when it comes to not being bullshit missing out on western releases. They realize that the world isn't just Japan, while also making games that stay true to their origin. Their games continue to have SOUL.
They also own an excellent European and American branch with a few great Studios. Creative Assembly and Relic Entertainment are based. Football Manager makes them a shit ton of money as well.
Yas Forums will always be Snoy/tendie/pc faggots. It's too late to jump on Sega's cock. Don't give a shit if you bought a Dreamcast 5 years ago.
Xbox is dreamcast 2 retard, SEGA doesn't need to release consoles anymore. They release arcade games and make millions.
fpbp
In some ways they're cool and I like them a lot, while in other ways they're total fucking dumbasses. I swear they must have some retarded office politics in SegaJP or something to be this mismanaged and disorganized.
The Microsoft games of Japan, rehash the same shit and keep and don't do shit with most of your OLD IPs.
Sega has literally bean dead since 2003 when Orta released. They LITERALLY have not released even one single good game since then that wasn't developed by someone else. Absolute fucking shell of a once fantastic company.
>Persona
>Valkyria Chronicles
>Sakura Wars
Godlike RPGs
>Sonic Franchise
they have no idea what they're doing at this point. Mania and Generations were decent. Unleashed & Colors were promising but lacking.
Don't hold your breath for that Sonic Adventure remake.
>Phantasy Star Online 2
It will take a while before it gets to JP standard but they're working fast to get it to that point. This game NEEDs a PC release but that's coming. Hopefully when PC gets released it'll be up to date.
Not sure what the NA version is doing for events though considering that the market is different.
>Yakuza, Judgement, etc.
They desperately need to change the formula in a way that ties both story and gameplay if they're going to continue this.
>Panzer Dragoon
It was sub par. No one expected it to be great but this isn't what the franchise needed. There are so many ways that this could have been better brought to this generation.
>Streets of Rage 4
Actually looks promising. I really hope they don't fuck this up.
>Jet Set Radio Evo
NEVER EVER HAHAH
Love 'em. Most of the best games of this gen have been Sega developed (Valkyria 4, Yakuza 0, Future Tone).
Honestly I'd be content if they just rereleased high quality ports of all their old exclusive arcade games at this point like they did with Virtua Racing.
>Shemue 3
A forgettable waste of money. If you're going to make a game a decade later at least tie up the story you fucking hack
Feels like a bunch of amazing IPs are being wasted, like JSR, Puyo Puyo or Phantasy Star. But they are still making decent games, unlike Konami
you fucking retard, it was only licensed to Ys Net with zero creative input from SEGA. That's why there was a huge kickstarter, that's like saying Battletech is shit because Microsoft licensed it out to Harebrained Schemes for a large fee.
When Sega is good, they’re amazing. The problem is they’re hardly ever good.
Nintendo doesnt give a fuck about that
See metroid or donkey kong
Fzero is dead because it has never sold well at al
>PuyoPuyo Tetris
A very needed and God tier puzzle game.
it's only a god tier puzzle game as long as you don't get good and see how fucky the balance is
But Metroid and DK both got games recently.
Never sold well in Japan. It made a decent, though not amazing sales in the west, but Nintendo only cares about domestic sales.
Yeah by non nintendo devs, that was my point
Both series sell well and its why they will continue to get more games in the future
Fzero never sold jackshit
The problem with Those games is that most of them only exist in japan now so I can't even play the new ones Live in the uk by the way
They've been slacking off a bit when it comes to the PC-market in the last few months. At least it feels that way
if it werent for their arcade and pachinko machines they would have been bankrupt a long time ago
But they went bankrupt
They got bought by Sammy a pachinko yakuza company
I feel like they may have a lot of projects in development like porting the various Yakuza releases from the last couple years and haven't gotten to the point of announcing them yet, so it feels like radio silence.
At least they're making a token effort to use their catalogue. All the Panzer Dragoon games, the HotD remakes...
So is that why all there non yakuza stuff has been shaffed
Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to the west thanks to Phil Spencer, as for IPs being wasted it probably comes down to a lack of studios who can make those games, right now the main sega studios are busy with Yakuza, Sonic team is busy with
I know, but they stopped making regular jrpgs for that series which is a shame
JRPGs just aren't in style anymore, you've got to do something really different to succeed. They have Persona 5 under Atlus.
This. I hope we get Judgement and Lost Paradise on Steam soon. I caved and got the Yakuza Collection on PS4 though. I'm a sucker for cool limited editions.
I wouldn't mind a lower budget dungeon crawling in the series, not every jrpg needs to be like persona or xenoblade
Retro style games are big right now.
Make a game thats like PS1. And bring back the first person dungeon gimmick.
Incompetent niggers in charge of many great franchises.
is there such thing as dark skinned vs light skinned Japanese?
