Just played pic related for the first time (Wii version though). It was pretty fun. How are the sequels compared to it?
Pikmin
2 is okay
3 is much better than 2
1 is kino
4 is coming soon
they're good
improvements imo
this series doesn't have a single bad game
hey pikmin was good for what it was
Pikmin 2 is possibly the best sequel to any video game, its far better in nearly everyway and holds up like fine wine, plus multiplayer, challenge modes, and it's full of soul and countless hours of gameplay.
Pikmin 3 is also a huge step up in beautiful fucking graphics, and innovates a lot, a very solid sequel.
2 is the best in the series, longer, more enemies, more stuff to collect. Dungeons can get a bit stale when doing repeated playthrus
3 is also pretty good but feels a bit short, wish there was more treasure variety.
2 is the best.
3 is a lame expansion of two that removes pikmin types. It's pretty but far shorter and easier then the prior installments.
Reset a level if you leave one of your Pikmin's alone after you leave the planet.
Basically what these guys said.
2 is the best, I don't understand why 3 removed caves.
2 is a much better game. The Pikmin are less retarded and it has much more content. No timer this time. There are now caves, where you have to make your pikmin last as you go through floors of dungeons. They're a fun addition, but not as good as exploring the outside levels. Most of the treasures are in the caves. 2 also introduces power ups for the captains and has more boss battles.
Caves were fun, but they went overboard. The bulk of the game should have been above ground exploration as opposed to linear gauntlets. I guess caves were probably just easier to develop than the main levels. 2 is still easily the best game.
I remember playing vs mode with some of my friends. It was full of shenanigans.
do people really do this? what about if they die in battle?
What a piss garbage take.
you're fucking retarded if you genuinely believe this
3 is amazing and I can’t wait to go back and play the first two.
When I was a kid I would reset in Pikmin 2 if anyone died. It'd be absurd to try it in the first game, though.
Is 4 really coming out soon? We haven't heard anything.
fpbp
2 is great if you love really boring caves, reused bosses, having one Pikmin type break the game because it’s clearly the strongest, and the removal of all tension due to no time limit.
2 is my favorite and the most expansive game, 3 is also really good but not as good as the first two. Honestly pikmin is just the most kino series
In terms of pure mechanics the series gets much better as it goes on. The sequels bring their own issues to the table though. 2 relies way too much on samey looking caves and 3 is just way too short and the creepy atmosphere is mostly gone.
3 is ok
until you play misson mode
then it's fucking great
only ever played 2 and i love it. good game
This nigga gets it. Pikmin 2 isn't a bad game and it added a lot of good stuff to the series (I even like the dungeons) but people who present it as a straight upgrade are oblivious to the unforgiving alien atmosphere of the first game and its arcade rooted gameplay.
3 is great, 2 is extremely polarising either you love it or you hate it.
I love the style of 2 as a follow up to 1
it's the rare kinda thing were it takes the basic controls and rules of the first game then makes something totally different using them, that shit's interesting
2 is equally good; I can't decide which I like better because they are both incredible games. 2 has a lot more to do in it though. 3 was just okay, even though I only played it once. Not very memorable. I've played the first 2 many times.
1 great
2 great
3 great (now in HD)
>3 great (now in HD)
that's actually worth mentioning
Pikmin 3 looks pretty fucking good
1 is by far and away the best in the series. 2 is very overrated, but still really good.
1 is best for survival/strategy with arcade-like replay-ability If you're more into comfy collecting/exploration, 2 is the one for you. Never played 3.
I've replayed 1 probably over ten times. I've played the sequel only twice. Despite this, 2 is my favorite.
