>Valorant Anticheat starts upon computer boot and runs all the time, even when you don't play the game
How do you guys feel about this shit? It feels super invasive and if every developer starts using it then you're going to have 20 anti-cheat processes running when you boot up your PC. This seems scummy as fuck.
I went through the trouble of getting a key but never installed the game because of it. I fucking hate that every fucking company is trying to spy on us at every turn in current year.

I don't know very much, but that sounds like malware. Is this shit legal?
Aiden Stewart
Any game that requires you to restart after you've installed it and simply will not function unless you do is doing the same thing.
Jaxon Powell
It's malware. You might be surprised that win10 is full of it too. So is Firefox and Chrome. Even Geforce Experience has malware in it.
Where did the tech industry go so wrong?

Can you name another game that requires a reboot after installation? I can't off the top of my head.
>all those posters going "who cares, it's novel and better than csgo script kiddies, they can take whatever extreme measures they need" while bitching at anyone that calls out Riot for this there's a lot of reasons why I don't bother with riot games, but the chief among them is their loyal cocksucking community that has absolutely no self-awareness, just blind stupidity
Brandon Carter
Why does anyone defend a corporation? If you love the games, you should criticize them and the devs so they become even better.

Brenner14 15 points · 6 hours ago Will you consider implementing an option to NOT run the driver at system startup by default, and prompt for a restart upon launching the game? I would feel much more comfortable compartmentalizing my play sessions in such a way that the driver is never running unless I am playing the game. level 2 RiotArkem 34 points · 6 hours ago While it's not an official option you can do this yourself by uninstalling Vanguard once you're finished playing. You can find it as "Riot Vanguard" in Add/Remove programs.
When you want to play again the patcher/launcher will reinstall Vanguard automatically and you'll be asked to reboot your system.

You could just sandbox it in a virtual machine, or just OS installed on a separate drive. That's what I do with with untrustworthy stuff.
