Grass destruction is a nice touch
I'm almost done reimplementing my state machine. Code started getting too messy with my half-assed measure, but it was good I did it now before it became too unwieldy.
did this last night, trying to make the grass destructible and bendable, but it's a lot harder to do than i originally thought.
I'm not sure if it qualifies as 1-bit, I don't know my technical terms, but all of it will be black and white, yes.
Not good. Have reached the part where I have to design and make the player HUD now and it's killing my motivation to keep working.

What makes a good "tutorial phase" of a game? How do I teach the player the basic mechanics of the game without it feeling like a forced tutorial and without too much railroading?

Decided to improve my art. My problem is I can make better art and animations, but keeping it consistent and making a finished game will be very time-consuming; I can cheapen out which will save some time but every time I boot up the game I'll be dissatisfied. Fuck.
Still can not decide whether I should be doing a cutebait gatcha for mobile or my dream game with larger than life features that I'll never finish.

PSX-like graphics are starting to become really, really popular in the form of horror games, and I'm getting worried.
