they changed the scene where hojo first appears. it's actually clever because it winks at the boomer who played the original and already knew that scene and also to the newcomer who didn't know anything but is intrigued.

Just finished it a few hours ago and while I didn't hate it, I dont think that I would recommend it. The sidequests weren't interesting and some of the textures in this game are just ridiculously bad. Combine that with nomura's tendency to destroy every bit of sensible writing and you get this game.

Yeah, the "remake" title is a bait-and-switch, asshole move in my opinion, but if you thought they'd just do 1/3 of of a 40 hour game with no new content and story in a multi-million dollar game in this day and age you're fucking delusional or a dishonest cunt who wouldn't have liked the game regardless of how they did it.
The original title is still there, it isn't trying to be FF7 with fancier graphics and for what it's worth they're doing a good job staying faithful to the original and not just doing references to the original game.

They haven't even released half of the game and we have no idea where they're going with it.
