Huh? There is literally a part in the game where a woman shits on the European union and there scheme for Europe to have no separate cultures, languages, and identities

I don't have bonds with this game of any kind, i even find the gameplay bad, while the atmosphere, story, freedom are top notch.
That said, make a new entry in the series. The original game is there, we can already play it, with a billion mods that can enhance or deteriorate your experience. Just made a new game in the same universe, why try to capture lightning in a bootle again with the same thing?

Why no? I'm not OP, but the gameplay of Deus Ex was honestly a punch in the eye even back then.
The story is great and makes you cope with the obvious gameplay and technical flaws this game has.

ion Storm Dallas was John Romero ruining his legacy while Ion Storm Austin was another team who weren't blowing money like idiots. Since Deus Ex was a modest success and Daitakana was one of the biggest bombs ever (I think it cost 30-40 million dollars and sold like shit) Dallas team was entirely canned.

If I play this for the first time, what skill should I max first?

Why would i pay money to play a game i already own?
They are either going to slap sharp textures and ugly filters, a thing i can do with mods, or they are going to botch it up by modernizing it.
I'm not against progress, but the fact Deus Ex still works is a combinations of elements that woulf fall apart by adding modern "QoL improvements", the end result would be not good enough as remake, and not good enough as standalone game

Deus ex is not stealth

The story was an absurd gamut of pre millennia paranoia that was around at the time (militia movement/black helis/UN takeover) and is now 20 years out of context. Which is why this game isn't popular outside this board, and even on this board is only used for memes by people who probably didn't even finish it.

I did a melee playthrough and discovered how freaking good fire-extinguishers and pepper spray is. Normally on realistic JC with a crowbar would be no match for troops with guns right? A gas grenade or pepper spray immobilizes them all, making you to kill them all. Murder-stealth is now my fave playstyle.

And fire-extinguishers are just single use pepper spray.

Stop getting caught up in what type of game it is and just fucking play it the way you want to play it. Every option is viable

a lot of what makes Deus Ex good is the jank that would almost certainly be filtered out in a remake, on the other hand I'd be all for it if they finally put in the UNATCO loyalist path.

we have occasional comfy Deus Ex threads but they have a fairly small amount of posters and occasionally the jannies go on their period and delete them for no reason.
