It's honestly pretty fun, from what little I've played. I definitely prefer it over its competition like LoL

Yes. The base game was so fucking awful that they had to pull the devs in charge of creating the new UT to make a BR mode for them. To this day, UT is still in pre-alpha and virtually abandoned (but the community is still there waiting too). Fuck Fortnite.

I would recommend playign on a PC, rather than any of the consoles (even the switch with it's gyro aiming) 'cuz while it may be somewhat serviceable you'll still find yourself paired up with children if you're choosing to not play with friends.

Keep some explosives on you. And if they're building high aim for the base of their building so you can let gravity take them out.

I finally realized why I keep coming back. The minute to minute engagement is much better than other games. When I play Warzone in CoD or PUBG, there’s not a lot to do if you’re not close to anyone. Once you have a loadout that you like, there’s really no point in doing much except goin inside the circle, and there’s no real way to counter people who have a better gun than you do. There are times when it can go four or five minutes without you doing anything. In Fortnite, you are always doing something to engage yourself. With the bigger equip loads, you are constantly on the search for something better. And with how building works, you are always trying to scrounge up more materials after every firefight. Even with how the challenges work, you are constantly landing new places and exploring. And the inclusion of a team death match mode means you never feel like you are locked behind a kill challenge. It makes everything simple and anyone can jump in. But at the same time, there is a clearly defined line between those who are good at the game and those who are not. No other game in the genre has the same character recognition, minute to minute engagement, and skill ceiling as Fortnite.

Some people have an unreasonable hate boner for it but I could never get in to it. I really don't like the mix of building and shooting. They're fun on their own but when together they feel shitty.

The point is that isn't necessarly a good thing, and the skill ceiling you speak about is mostly about how fast can you perform some actions to save your ass, not actual gunplay or strategy, gamesense and yadayada.

Also, BRs have a quite big amount of "random", but Fortnite has quite a lot of it, given how you can't just do shit if your starting is bad and your opponents are of a similar skill level.

Said so, I am a Siege faggot myself and I love it for the absolute sense of control about what happens on the map through the prep phase, the destruction, the vertical shooting, the interactions between gadgets, the fuckton ways to gather intel about the enemy and yadayada.

I'll leave people smashing their keyboard to build a tower around them to others while I enjoy being a sneaky fuck and winning by simply moving correctly around the map and helping myself with my cams.

Cam-girl is best soldier after all and if y'all play Siege and don't agree go play in bronze.

Season 2-3 was a great game, but the building mechanics didn't scale in a fun way when the general audience got used to it, and the devs consistently made terrible decisions that turned off both casual and competitive players.

RNG as a core mechanic is inherently fucking retarded, the balancing is based entirely around whiney man-baby """"""""""professional"""""""""""" players and ACTUAL fucking children, and StW becomes such a unplayable slog at higher levels that you may as well try to take down a brick wall with a fucking spork before you try and overcome the bullet sponges

BRs can be fun. I like playing Apex with my buddies at times between other games, but it's that, a BR game.

People that take BR too competitively are just bound to see a wall very soon, and even those who are really good at them will be fucked in the ass constantly by RNG.

And there is RNG and RNG. Random guns are just pure luck, Runes in Dota2 are random in nature but spawn at very precise timings. Unless you are retarded you can play around them even if you don't know what they will be before.
