If they are going to make the game it's going to be more inline with the other two REmakes, not the first and most definitely not the original RE4. It's going to lose its cheese, charm, tempo, atmosphere and a whole lot of other intangible aspects. You can't even make a game with 'Mexicans' without a recist scream. If it were the same staff I'd be less 'fuck this' about it. Basically, #releasethemikamicut.

That's the difference between the RE1 remake and the 2/3 Remakes. Only the first is a "let's stick as close as we can to the original and improve on it's weakest elements" while 2 and 3 are straight up reimaginings.

I'm down if the melee system is still there.

Spending one bullet to get one headshot but then kick down like 6 guys from the follow up is so inherently satisfying that I can't think of any way they could fuck it up If it keeps the dodge from 3make too they could make it even faster, let you play really aggressively.

Although the RE2 Remake took certain creative liberties I found it was still an overall decent game.
RE3 on the other hand was fucking trash.

started playing through 7 recently. finished most of the silent hill games (other than 4, downpour and homecoming) but never got around to resident evil. i'm a zoomer (turning 21 in a few days) so i didn't play them on release.
