I guess Oblivion, if you have to play on console.
But Morrowind is a masterpiece.

>if you have to play on console
Nah I play on PC. I just pulled those two covers because they were the only ones I could find together.

Then Morrowind, easily.
If you're a Skyrim baby you should play Oblivion first because it's more modern, though.

I've played Oblivion in the past, I'm working on Morrowind now. So far it's not what I expected but I'm enjoying it.

I can’t imagine going to Oblivion after Skyrim
Skyrim has actually decent gameplay and doesn’t go full retard with level scaling
Morrowind has the best writing and atmosphere by far but plays like the most janky shit you can imagine
Oblivion is only slightly less jank with worse writing and lore then Skyrim

Morrowind has a much more interesting world

Morrowind
>better world and dungeon design
>better story and lore
>better sense of exploration and discovery
>more guilds
>deeper rpg mechanics
Oblivion
>better quests
>memorable characters and voice acting
>comfy atmosphere
>better combat
>better AI and stealth systems

For me it’s Oblivion

Can't you use mods to fix the level scaling?

I agree, it actually *feels* like I'm part of the world. I had to restart though because I fucked up and went all the way to ghostgate and my fucking sword broke.

I probably would've liked morrowind if i played it when it was released
I tried it a few years ago and i stopped playing after a few hours

Good breakdown

>stopped playing after a few hours
Why?

Didn't play oblivion but morrowind is an abomination. The quests are the definition of soulless and the combat is also shit. Only Nostalgia retards say it's good because to them getting to destination using the indications morrowind gives you is an achievement in their worthless lives.

>Morrowind has the best writing and atmosphere
Nope.

>the combat is also shit
I mean, it's definitely dated but it's not THAT bad. It's not a fucking hack n slash.

>10 skyrim releases
>still no morrowind remastered with VA
What the fuck

>playing on Console
HEY LOOK AT THIS SONY NEGRO AND LAUGH!

I'm not even sure if I want them to make a remake. I feel like they would just screw it up and/or try it into some unholy abomination.

>play on ps3
>become a vampire
>stuck a vampire forever

If they do it the skyrim way and add voice acting there is little room for fuck ups
>port to new engine
>update graphics
Fallout is the one with the fuckups not tes

Morrowind is better mechanically and story wise, but this is one of the rare cases when the younger title has more SOUL

user, not him.
But Morrowind becomes inhumanly HARD if you remove dice rolling, so hard that it makes even zooming souls kids seethe since rats now deal full damage, and restoration and alchemy becomes even more necessary.

>`tgm
heh, nothing personal todd

Both are better than the other at different things. a perfect mix of both games would be better than either individually.

You have to remember though, any remake will be catered to console fags. I would prefer they leave Morrowind alone.

By soul, are you talking about the music?

why would it matter if pc is pc? It would get ported to consoles not the other way around

If you're a Skyrim baby, you'll most likely get filtered by Morrowind's actual RPG mechanics, and Oblivion's leveling. Props to you if you don't, though. Don't even get me started on Arena and Daggerfall.

Next generation Combat
Skywind (morrowind magic mod)
And a mod for magicka and fatigue regen.
Now the game is hard and fun as Hexen, Battlespire and Daggerfall, and leveling all skills becomes priority, mainly for late game.

You may be lvl 20, but umbra and those orcs at Malacath's shrine in sheogorad region becomes even more challenging.

Morrowind is easy to level if you go spear jumping route, oblivion the same with 1h blades, and its easy to exploit using the athletics/acrobatic trick.
Both games needs skill leveling, which isn't hard if you exploit it, but after doing it so many times it loses fun and soul.

the best thing that skyrim did was fixing leveling progress, though they fucked resistances in process.

>Morrowind has the best writing
LMAO CHAIRS ON TOP OF EACH OTHER HOW CRAZY AND FUNNY
yea nah

Oblivion is widely regarded as one of the worst Elder Scrolls games ever made. It was a pure cashgrab aimed squarely at the brainless new Xbox360 crowd that was developing at the time. It was made for the absolute lowest common denominator.

>It would get ported to consoles not the other way around
You honesty believe that? When has that happened in recent years?

>Oblivion is widely regarded as one of the worst Elder Scrolls games ever made
Lmao no it isn't

Being this fucking gay

And this is why it is better for the most part.

>oblivion worst
Keep dreaming ResetS/o//y Fueled CodexNMA kid.

>Not keeping a rotation of 5 saves minimum in case you fucked up

It's like you're new to RPGs
