It's hilarious to go back and look at old review scores for incredibly hyped games. Games like Skyward Sword and Uncharted 4 got showered with 10/10's upon release, but how often do you see those games on people's favourite games lists these days? Basically non-existent.

Think I'm good permanently. Outer Worlds was the last straw. I think being generally hustle-proof is great. Baseless hope is 100% a liability.

the biggest example of that I can think of is Bioshock Infinite, which got treated like the second coming of Citizen Kane in video game form and then a month later everyone moved on and nobody even cared when the DLC hit

1) Cyberpunk always used a different team than the Witcher 3
2) And regardless, the people responsible for the writing of the Witcher 3 do not work at the company anymore, if for example the game was delayed and they needed senior staffers to maybe go back over the story beats if they total trash
