Games you are glad flopped
Dark souls
huniepop 2
I'm now glad I didn't buy that game.
>Lovecraftian game
>half the eldrich abominations are just niggers and spics
Bravo Raimi
I liked the sinking city tho, having to stand that "we're not racist guys we totally swear, we're just so uncreative we can't make our own stuff and must steal the lore from a racist guy!"
But the game is pretty cool and the protagonist is SUPER DUPER HANDSOME.
I wish Cyberpunk 2077 would flop to make CDPR pay attention to his game instead of living off the dying fame of Witcher 3 and giving us a first person shooter "rpg" full of sjw shit.
It's nice to dream but Cyber will probably sell well anyway.
Sonic Forces
I totally forgot about this game.
I remember wanting to buy it until it became a Epic Exclusive and then I just lost interest.
This really is a "Oh yeah that happened" game
DmC
Why is "build a wall" and "make x great again" is so.fycking overused? Don't devs know subtlety?
talentless hacks devoid of creativity
Didn't Lovecraft hate w*lsh more than nigs?
Yes he was the old school AAAAH AN IRISHMAN style racist
This actually made me more interested in the game also Lovecraft was very racist so I'm not sure why this bothers you
I feel like it could've been better overall but what was there was fun, it just needed an extra something to really shine.
Maybe some better bosses, but absolutely needed a mission to take out the E.O.D. properly.
Sure the gorilla dude was racist and it wasn't helping things, but the Innsmouthers are literal abominations and should be executed as such.
he was racist during a time when racism was the norm, paradoxally he was facinated by all the arabic stuff and africa (like all the made up cthulhu language is actually prononced in arabic)
peoples tends to forget about the times he lived in
He was pretty racist even by the standards of his time though, he was a genuine xenophobe and it shows through in his work from time-to-time.
That said, on his death bed he did repent for his racism and was apparently ashamed of it. Those dirty queers though, oh he still has some things to say about them.
you sound like a nigger and a fag
They can't stop talking about him being a racist asshole but sure dont mind trying to make money off his work, do they?
Bloodborne. If it actually sold well we'd have a lot more shitty Soulsclone than we already had.
No, they just pretend like the average old money new englander wasn't just as horrified of living in close proximity to non-WASPs as Lovecraft was
Typically it's some prefact about him like "Lovecraft was a racist xenophobe even for his time!" which is obviously not true, they also act like him naming his cat "Niggerman" or whatever is the height of racism even though nigger wasn't even the racist term back then as it would later become
You are correct on both counts.
I ddidn't bother reading all those blurbs because game journos couldn't be honest about a game's narrative if they tried, but is this just a case of people whining because of a disclaimer or actual problems with the game itself
because the former's totally fine frankly
>peoples tends to forget about the times he lived in
What is annoying is that isnt a valid excuse for people anymore. Wasn't it last year or something twitter "canceled" some female singer that was dead for like 30 years cause of a song she sang that had racist lingo in it from like the 1920's or something. Its fucking ridiculous the lengths some of these people go to jump on a soapbox and feel morally superior to others.
>He was pretty racist even by the standards of his time though
No
>he was a genuine xenophobe
Everyone with a dollar to their name was
>and it shows through in his work from time-to-time.
It's the subtext of 90% of his work. But that's irrelevant.
>That said, on his death bed he did repent for his racism and was apparently ashamed of it.
What a coincidence, because he was fucking dirt poor when he died and had a family history of mental illness, most likely early onset dementia or Alzheimer's, meaning by then might've believed his stories were reality and that's the only reason he decided black people weren't so bad
This. It isn't even racist rhetoric, it's just right-populist rhetoric.
What are some good eldritch horror games? Only ones I can say I genuinely liked were Eternal Darkness, Sundered, the yahtzee games and I guess Bloodborne. I love the concept but it just doesn't execute often.
Every person who directly adapts something HP Lovecraft while doing something like this should donate 100% of their profits to anti racism charities or they have no integrity.
Dark Corners of the Earth is the classic
I heard it was a huge pain in the ass to get working right.
that's pretty much it
if you don't mind a janky 6/10 game, you could also play the Sinking City or Call of Cthulu (the recent one) since you can get either one for cheap now, but the Sinking City would be the better choice purely because it's not a fucking snorefest with ultimately useless RPG perk mechanics
Same thing with devs who preach socialism and go nuts at poor people pirating their games
Get the GOG version, it works perfectly.
>Yas Forums hates it when games pretend racism in history wasn't a thing
>Yas Forums hates it when games acknowledge racism in history was a thing
>Yas Forums hates games
We don't hate either. We hate when either is being made into a talking point by subhuman journalists.
Games can feature racism in history or not, but stupid journalist articles are shit either way.
>a bunch of news articles from gaming sites
>Yas Forums
Hatred. The whole MUH SJW crowd touted the game as a second coming but it came and went like a wet fart. And yes, I'm aware of the switch port.
the first news about hatred anyone ever heard was it getting banned and censored and called a school shooter simulator or whatever
try out Darkwood
How was Hatred anti-SJW? It was just about some autist named Not Important going on a killing spree.
I tried it. I couldn't enjoy the actual gameplay. Walking 5 steps with random forest people charging in at me while I beat them with sticks got old. I don't think its a bad game but it isn't really for me.
I don't have any interest in buying an EGS exclusive. I might give Call a try if I can get it for like 12 bucks or something down the line.
I'll look into it.
