Hopes/dream/expectations/ideas for the next Wario adventure game?
Wario Land
to actually exist
wario just punching everyone for no reason collecting nonsense trophies and smashing everything in the kingdom basically
I hope that fat fuck dies at the end
Shake it artstyle
Daisy cameo with Luigie being in the background
When-a am I gonna get-a mainline nintendo game?
Wario and Waluigi team up for a co-op adventure. Moves unlocked through the game have Wario bend Waluigi into various shapes and forms to use him as various tools.
In the wild scenario that there actually will be one, here's some hopes and ideas
>Keeps the Shake It artstyle and animations but goes back to a style of gameplay and exploration resembling more 3 and 4
>Transformations and not dying are once again the main feature of Wario's gameplay. There's a bit more than there were in WL4 but not as many as in II or 3. A solid middleground.
>Bridges the gap between Ware and Land by having Ware characters show up at certain points, either in cameos or to help progress Wario's journey
>Also has optional dumb minigames built in that you can unlock as you progress
>Cap Syrup is in it but the villain and setting are completely new ones, as usual
>Waluigi is there somewhere. Either as a cameo or as a secondary playable option or a miniboss, whatever, just put him in a Wario game already and give him something fun to do
>Cutscenes with voice-acting akin to Gold where Charles Martinet once again gets to have fun doing more than grunts and wahoos
I'd also ask for the return of Wario's old minions from Mario Land 2 and Wario's Woods in any capacity, but even in the impossible fantasy scenario of getting a new Wario Land that still seems too unlikely.
But hey, a man can dream.
At least we have Pizza Tower.
The Pizza Tower guy should make a Wario mod for his game. I like Peppino but the option to really use Wario would be above and beyond.
20th anniversary in July.
The Pizza Tower guy probably doesn't want to risk a Cease and Desist.
If it was released as a mod rather than bundled in officially, there wouldn't be any risk. He could even release it from a throwaway account.
I think Nintendo is holding Waluigi mainline game for a special moment. They are fully aware how impact that kind of game will have big impact on console wars.
Just let it be its own thing, man. You might get an ersatz of Wario if he finds a reason to spend dev time drawing and coding a unique character like he did with Snick for the SAGE demo but right now it's standing fine on its own and I wouldn't really want that changed.
Actually how about this
>Wario is Player 1, Waluigi is Player 2. They can be played separately, or in Co-Op.
>Wario plays exactly like he always does. Just brute forces his way through everything and gets power-ups from his refusal to die.
>Waluigi isn't as strong and he gets no power-ups from taking damage (he either dies, or just suffers and complains, depending on what's funnier), but in return, he can squeeze through areas Wario can't thanks to his lanky frame and the air swim, he can use bombs, and he's able to clear levels much faster, making him more of a speedrun/hard mode option.
>In Co-Op, both can use each other as tools to get across. Wario can bend and twist Waluigi into several tools to access hidden areas (all of whom approprietly named things like "Screwdriver Waluigi", "Crowbar Waluigi" or "Lifeboat Waluigi"), and Waluigi can use Wario as a battering ram to clear walls and rows of enemies or a shield to take damage instead of him.
>Playing Co-Op additionally also grants you an extra boss route where one has to fight the other to determine who gets the loot, and the more stuff you both collect, the harder the fight is
It's already based heavily on Wario Land and it's the only thing coming out right now that's doing that. The whole thing is a love letter and homage to the Wario Land series. Including Wario as a bonus character would just be a cool addition, not a change. I'd also love to see how the dev animates him, Wario has a vastly different personality from the main character.
Why do you want the Shake It artstyle? It's way too clean for Wario. It looks like a freaking 90's Disney movie. Wario should be more rough looking.
SMRPG 2
The party is Mario, Luigi the white mage, Daisy the black mage, and Wario the tank
WarioWare was a mistake, it's easier to make shitty minigames than a series of levels, enemies, bosses, power-ups etc...
Sad!
Eh, there's tons of people already modding the game on Discord. You'll probably get a Wario Land mod before the game is even out.
Besides I don't think the game would benefit from it. Pizza Tower started as a Wario Land love letter but there's been a lot of work put into making it it's own thing. It fills the WL-void in our hearts without being a clone, and it's better off this way.
The game has a lot of things it has drawn mechanical inspiration from, not just Wario or Sonic. Yeah it'd be neat to have a larger cast of playable characters, but I'd rank having a complete suite of stages (ideally with an editor) to capstone the game with rather than a hodgepodge of different concepts that distract from the primary goal. He's already spent a decent amount of time making Noise playable and making co-op work, he can have fun coding wacky shit all he wants as long as he's delivering on the core package.
I don't want the Shake It artstyle so much as I want Wario's incredible animation work in that game to stay intact.
I agree that the amount of work that was seemingly put into it is quite impressive.
Agreed wholeheartedly. I'm just saying if it's something he'd want to do, I'd love to see his take on Wario the character, too.
I think Shake It is the worst Wario Land but it's still a really good, fun game that deserved much better promotion than it got.
If we could combine the animation of Shake It, the combat mechanics of Wario World, the varied story options of II, and the everything else of Wario Land 4, we really would have the perfect goddamn game.
>I think Shake It is the worst Wario Land
That depends on if Master of Disguise counts.
I just want to see a game like Wario Land 2/Wario Land 4 played in 3D. That could be even better than Wario World if they can figure out how to design it properly.
Wario World was shit, only 8 levels and all the enemies are reskins. The final boss was terrible too.
"I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay..."
>SMRPG 2
>5 active party members rather than 3
>Peach (white mage)
>Bowser (tank)
>Geno (black mage)
>Prince Mallow (red mage)
>Luigi (monk)
>Wario (bruiser)
>Waluigi (thief)
>Jonathan Jones (ninja)
>some new characters (warrior, knight, master)
Yeah it was a limited game, that's why I'd like to see the WL4 formula adapted to 3D gameplay.
