I got to level 30 in the game and realized Maplestory was the superior 2d side scrolling game

Popularity =/= better game

Yeah pretty much, it had serious competition with MapleStory and minor competition with La Tale and Ghost Online

It's funny though that if it were to relaunch and get some actual advertisement going, it might actually do well now

I just never liked the movement in Maplestory compared to Wonderking.

Was Wonderking even populated when it was out? True that popularity doesn't automatically make a game fun but it plays factor if the game is fun or not. I personally can't see playing a game where I see the same 100 people log in every day

Fair enough, old MapleStory only had real 'free-range' movement in the form of one class (Rogue with Flash Jump/Haste)
WonderKing if I'm remember correctly had actual double jumps/dashes for every class

Funnily enough, MapleStory has pretty much given every class now a 'Flash Jump' equivalent, allowing for better feeling movement

I mean I was always meeting new people. All endgame players always chilled in the same spot so it was nice logging in every day

Really enjoyed this game while I could never get into another MMO.

Flyff

I remember playing some character with a hunting rifle.

I also vaguely remember fighting some bee boss in the first area.

asherons call, and im still playing it and you should too gdle ac potato ac 300ish people on the pk server its fucking dank they're making new content

Wonderland Online, I've never seen people talk about it.
All I remember were the turn-based combat, the waifu NPCs that you could recruit (with some affection system), some rather expensive housing system and some quest about a suicidal mermaid.

I played pretty much every 2d mmo that came out in the mid to late 2000s.
This included. Never seen anyone talk about it.

Fucking Ghost X man
Game was cool as shit. You had little flying robot cyclops pets that morphed into giant swords, cannons, and scythes and shit.
And each of them evolved and had branching paths to turn into different weapons.

One of my favorite MMO

Mix Master btw

Pretty sure I played this?
Definitely played this. They had some event with increased drops or xp or something and I ground out to the endgame area in like a day.
I remember having that big dumb metal meatgrinder face monster thing and that's about it.

Tales of Pirates

I loved tales of pirates
great soundtrack

Yep, that's the one. I saw it in a screenshot from google and remembered having it.
Don't remember what else I had, but I got to the desert area pretty fast and dropped it after. Don't remember why. Event ended maybe? Maybe the monster drop or capture rates were shit? Idk.

Played it on an absolute toaster PC in the late 2000s before I got into the series. Couldn't appreciate it then. Now I'm sad.

I definitely played rumble fighter for all of about two before I realized you'd get eternally fucked by anyone that spent real money on a different fighting scroll.
No thanks m8. I stuck to Lost Saga and fucked people up with the base assassin for days.

Still enjoyed this game more than Elsword.
Think it was the first online game I ever spent money on? Bought a bunch of cash shop items for Ronan and went to town.
Holy fuck was it harder than Elsword though.

Seems like nobody remembers this.
Pretty sure it was NCSoft. Died pretty fast.
Remember buying a kick ass mech with wings and a rocket launcher and fucking people up in pvp.
