It's been an absolute treat ten hours in; the script plays perfectly to my sensibilities and despite all the silliness it never feels like it's talking down to you, nor does it become overtly goofy at all. Masterful dry humor all way through. If you like laughing, go for it.
Games you wished were more known/loved

Napoleon Dynamite meets Battletoads
Criminal I never see any threads about it
Fun game all around. The pickle factory was top tier.
It's niche as hell by design, and I wish that more people who genuinely would go for this kind of game knew it was a thing.
Extreme reactivity in a constrained space with a unique premise in a dialogue heavy game.
Join the fun and post underrated gems ye love.
ok try LISA next
Love these kinda threads, invariably I end up discovering a future favorite.
If you folks like Picross and Ace Attorney don't sleep on Murder by the Numbers.
no
fuck you
I keep it on my Switch wishlist and it goes on sale fairly often. I'll get it one day.
I just started it. It's really funny so far.
I still haven't played it but I'm waiting for a sale. The trailer totally convinced me.
Obra Dinn aight
Luftrausers.
Not that unkown but still a little addicting game.
it's probably the first metroidvania I've played
the guy who made it still around making games and is doing okay
but honestly I don't think an average person knows about his older games, like this one
What's this?
First I hear of it. Will look it up.
Oh shit is that Untitled Story? That was dope
That dude made Celeste and TowerFall, he's doing great for an indie dev.
So that's what it's call--
oh fuck, from the Celeste dev? now I gotta check
he made it when he was like 16 and it still stands up as a really solid game
Always something admirable about games done so young, especially if they stand the test of time
Got WOL cheap on the eShop as a blast of nostalgia as I played KOL years ago and had a pretty fun time with it. Pity its only like 10 hours in length.
one of the devs is a rapist and another knew and downplayed it when talking to the victim, which is probably no one talks about it anymore
Ah man, this means I'm closer to the end than not? I only just made it to the Frisco territory
Source?
and my bad, i said a dev was the rapist, but it appears it's actually a "dev" of KoL rather than WoL
INFRA. It's pure joy if you enjoy exploring old abandoned industrial buildings. Shame, that it uses Source engine which looks rather dated by modern standards.
Jeez, thanks for the info. Goddamn. If the writer's involved in these that's gonna sour up the experience big time
You're probably taking your time with it then. The Breadwood sidequests is just as long as the actual mainline story. Frisco is maybe 3/4 of the way through the main quest.
Was Murder by the Numbers made by white people? It's like really bad story wise.
