The ghosts have three attack modes comparable to sword slash, punching and machine rifle. They're Cloud, Tifa and Barrett.

Remaking scenes and parts of the original is like 100% of the marketing and appeal. At most you'll get a different ending and the Aerith scene playing out the same only for an interruption or bait and switch or something. All of the trailers are going to consist of recreations of the original game's scenes.

13-2 was better then 13 though

They literally quadrupled the amount of time required to go from the destruction of sector 7 to arriving at Shinra building. If they get away with this game, they'll go even further in the next game.

It was, 13-2 is the closest thing we'll ever get to a modern-day Chrono Trigger, aside from Radiant Historia. But 13-2 still sold much, much worse than 13 because of how much of a dumpster first it was.

This isn't even exclusive to Final Fantasy. Just look at how DMC3 sold like shit despite being the best entry in the franchise, because DMC2 was such a pile of garbage.

They've already gone against this. This remake is not being made with the fans in mind. It's being made for new fans. The type of people who obsess over cinematic universes like Marvel and Star Wars. Because that's the market Square wants. They've been trying to tap that market since FFXIII.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a trojan horse to reboot the entire Final Fantasy franchise. They used the FFVII name because they know the fanboys like you will hype the game to high heaven just on name recognition. Which you did. Then that hype will get non FF fans to buy it, which they have. The exact same trick they're pulling with the Star Wars sequels and and shitty live action remakes of animated movies. And thats only in the first Island. Theres SO MUCH left before disc 2.
Squeenix gonna need at least 7 disc or more to cover this game or cut content.
