Let's settle this once and for all, Yas Forums. Which game is better? Persona 5 or Xenoblade Chrinicles 2?
No console wars bullshit, you faggots.
Let's settle this once and for all, Yas Forums. Which game is better? Persona 5 or Xenoblade Chrinicles 2?
i voted that both are good because they are, but xenoblade doesn't make me waste my time on a badly written social simulator
If I actually had to pick one I'd probably go with Xenoblade, the gameplay is more dynamic even if it has less content on paper.
But you put a "both are good" option so fuck you, that's the truth.
>which game is better, apple or orange
>Lets settle this once and for all
>No console wars
>Which game is better
Where do you think we are exactly? The two aren't even remotely similar to one another, and any form of comparison is pointless. That's like me comparing Kingdom Hearts to Fire Emblem. Get this fan base provoking shit out of here.
>four (4) fucking options, two of which let you remain basically impartial
I get what you're going at with this, but please stop doing this when you make polls. Have some balls; make people choose.
Looks like other people have no issue to compare them with each other though?
People here throw a hissy fit every time you don't give them the option to vote for basically nothing.
P5 no contest holy shit.
The only thing going for XC2 is it's music, and even then P5 is still far better.
I would say Xenoblade.
I dunno, most Xenoblade 2 fans have actually played their favorite game
That's borderline false. You get to actually experience gameplay in XB2 for one. In P5, you're either running through hallways in Mementos, or in dungeons that can be cleared in a single day. Outside of that, the Calendar management is borderline easy to maneuver, and there's no excuse for you to not have your SL's maxed with all the time they give you. Beyond that, XB2 has the better world in general, and easily has better scale, and exploration than P5, or a Persona game has ever had.
>OST
P5 doesn't have a bad soundtrack at all, but it's definitely not as amazing as prior Persona games when it comes to music, and it's going for a specific theme which limits the potential. XB2's OST has a wide amount of variety, and in general the composition is just as good, if not better.
>Story
Meh, both games are honestly pretty bad at this. They fall off at specific points, and there's general highs and lows.
>Characters
Trope incarnate for both games, so this is pretty pointless to debate. My number one issue with P5 is that the cast doesn't grow throughout the story since their development is mostly locked to unlocking their Persona, and their SL's. The first 3 Persona games didn't have this problem.
Which is better, [game] or [game so vastly different you can't possibly fairly compare them]
Well, Yas Forums?
The issue is that the games are drastically different, and have entirely different focuses. At this point, you're only pushing a fan base war, when both games already have bad enough threads as it is, and people keep trying to force comparisons between them. It never works, and the polls don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. You should have just compared P5 to another Persona, or SMT game, or Xenoblade 2 with some other Xeno game.
I haven't played any Xenoblade, but this user speaks the truth.
which one isnt a dating sim cuz ill vote the one that isnt
Isn't Persona that series that spawns endless waifu talk on imageboards with their generic archetypal characters?
Why did they get rid of characters developing throughout the story? I missed that in P4, and P5. It feels like their growth is artificial, and not really important at the end of the day. Although, I like their dynamic, and chemistry as overall groups. That's definitely a point off for P5. The villains are definitely better in XC2, though.
>Xenoblade is winning
Based
I don't see how anyone could say Persona 5 is better when it's a fucking linear RPG with a fucking time limit compared to a game that gives you so much freedom like Xenoblade 2, even when I asked people if the gameplay in Persona 5 gets better later on all they said was that the main thing about the game was the time management and social stuff, fuck actual RPG gameplay, am I right?
Honestly just go play a dating sim or something
Most people voting for XB2 are probably tendies who haven’t even played P5 or the shitposters who hate P5 but still haven’t played XB2
That's not even true, though. It definitely has gameplay in its favor in terms of how much depth is present, even if the pseudo Gacha mechanic is utterly redundant. P5's combat has no depth outside of spamming Baton Pass, and abusing buffs or debuffs. Royal somehow managed to make an easy game far easier with how you can abuse new mechanics like Showtime, and the whole Skill Cards mechanic. Beyond that, the dungeon puzzles are quite literally mindless, and require no real thought with how much your party gives out the simplest of hints. P5 holds your hand.
Nice deflection. Read the thread instead of getting paranoid. On the contrary, you'd have no issue of the situation was in reverse, right? Console warriors have no ability to assess things.
>Why did they get rid of characters developing throughout the story?
because weebs don't care to point out the flaws. Persona 5 is what you get when people praise P4 for its clever writing.
Xenoblade
Sonyfags don’t even know what persona 5 is
Shitsona 5 isn’t even an exclusive anymore, you can easily play it on rpcs3 with any okay PC, not that you should since the game is trash
XC2 is better but P5 is still good. XC2 has better gameplay, better story and better soundtrack.
Xenoblade 2 is an actual adventure akin to SNES JRPGs with an absolute kino ending that somehow manages to tie in Xenoblade 1 in a subtle but jaw-dropping way.
The other game is some cringe SJW plastic hipster shit for Reddit faggots.
I'm 30 years old, i.e. not dumb and young enough to participate in your stupid poll. I'd think your hipster JRPG winning only proves it's worse.
>Playstation-brand homo JRPGs
No thanks
This, why the fuck are there so many people who have only watched P5 on youtube yet say it's the best shit ever ?
Persona 5 is the most disappointing game of all time.
Xenoblade 2 is the only JRPG able to really compel me since P4G.
I played both on release. I liked both on release. I stopped liking P5 after release because it just got lost in my mind among all the rehashed stuff that it takes from the rest of megaten. After playing the other personas and the other SMTs it's just a fresh coat of paint. Xenoblade stuck true since the only things that give off the same vibe are Gears and Saga.
I don't like either of them, but I at least understand why people into very barebones social sims would like Persona. Xenoblade 2 is one of those games I'll never be able to see the appeal to no matter how hard I try.
Nah. Persona 5 does nothing new, and is just a terrible version of 4.
Xenoblade 2's battle system and level of customization, as well as the integration of unique blades in its overworld is something I haven't seen in the AAA sphere.
It's basically Pokemon, if there was around 50 of them, each with their own side quests and Social Links, as well as a radically different playstyle and unique interactions with the world.
XC2 is, honestly, an insane game that most people here don't even understand.
>Persona 5 does nothing new, and is just a terrible version of 4.
Opinion discarded.
Xenoblade 2 is essentially a garbage light novel in JRPG form with a shitty ending that had to piggyback off the vastly superior first game to not be complete ass.
Seriously, what the fuck was even the point of playing up Pneuma's "sacrifice" if she not only came back five minutes later, but Pyra and Mythra now got to be separate people on top of it?
Not that P5 was any better in this department.
>oh noes Ryuji is kill loljk
>oh noes Sojiro is kill loljk
>oh noes Morgana is kill loljk.
Bro.. .what? Persona is/was my favorite franchise and I would still vote XC2 over that turd of a game Persona 5 any day of the week.
The first Xenoblade is better than both.
>Xenoblade 2 is essentially a garbage light novel
You are literally describing Persona 5. XC2 is still the best JRPG of this generation even if you completely disregard the story.
Persona 5 is a bad visual novel.
Not him but state your case. What is 1 thing P5 does that hasn't already been done in the megaten franchise ad nauseum ? It's been the same demon negotiations, the same demons, the same social links, the same boring calendar, the same fight god at the end, the same hit le weakness for an extra turn, the same buff system, hell in 2016 there were TWO megaten games both with the same final boss.
Here
Persona 5 for me, I really dislike xenoblade 2's combat and I'm not crazy about the gatcha shit.... I like almost everything else about it.
Baseball minigame
>What is 1 thing P5 does that hasn't already been done
Why would this even matter? It doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, it has to be good. And it is, much better than persona 4 or 3 even. Most people have massive nostalgia goggles for 3s ending, but they are forgetting that the rest of the game fucking sucks, especially when it comes to gameplay or social links.
>XC2 is still the best JRPG of this generation
I got more out of xb2 than I did persona 5. Both were enjoyable however
>Xenocringe 2
no thanks
>both jrpgs
>not the same shit
>It doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, it has to be good. And it is, much better than persona 4 or 3 even
How can it be better when Persona games are mostly visual novels yet P5 writing is some of the worst ever for the genre?
You just described Persona 5, honestly. There's more focus on the story, and social links, than there is gameplay. Aka, the main reason you should be playing a game?
I'm just happy that the contrarian faggots who hate both are in the extreme minority ;)
Both games are awesome, though P5 is better. I still don't regret playing either of them and plan to play them again.
>What is 1 thing P5 does that hasn't already been done in the megaten franchise ad nauseum ?
Monsters have traits in persona 5 royal something i've not seen in any smt game i've played.
A single villain monologue in P5 is more cringe than the entire Xeno series of games.
Both games need to be on PC to really let their graphics shine.
>Monsters have traits in persona 5 royal something i've not seen in any smt game i've played.
IVA had something very similar.
The battle system was neat when I got the hang of it, but by the next chapter I just found it repetitive. Don't really care about the Blades because of the gacha system, they're tied to plus you have to bind a Blade to a character before even knowing what you're getting.
