Does Kingdom Hearts have good gameplay?

Or is it the kind of game people only play for the story?

Buddy, you got that completely backwards. I only play it for the gameplay

Square Enix and Nintendo are masters at getting suckers to rebuy the same shit over and over and over again.

Yes, 1FM is a solid action RPG game as long as you don't play on easy and 2FM is one of the best action RPGs ever on critical. Even if you don't think you'll like the story, I think you'll probably enjoy 1's story and you can skip through 2's story if you find it too cringe and just play for the gameplay.

I think generally people deal with the story because the gameplay is so damn good. KH2 was the closest it got to having both be in good shape. THe combat was 10/10 and the story was a 7 or so.

KH1 has the "best" story in the series. However it's still a mediocre kiddie story and not worth playing the entire game for it. But at least it's a clear, cohesive narrative.
KH2 has the "best" gameplay in the series. But it's still a subpar button mashing action game with some half baked, half thought out mechanics and not worth playing the entire game for it.

The rest of the series is utter fucking trash. You can only appreciate this franchise if you grew up playing it and you had autism as well.

The gameplay is why so many people play it, the story is a clusterfuck

It's a very good action RPG you can play as a beat em up but mix max with magic and summons (fuck 3 where you just spam the special abilities though)

but the gameplay in 2 is solid and excellent overall. your shitty opinion wouldn't be welcome here, but since you posted chino, you're good. Also bumping the thread back to page 1

I think it varies from title to title.
>KH1: balanced - the story is a comfy Disney adventure, gameplay is surprisingly pretty good but not great
>KH:CoM: I think people played this out of necessity. Mom couldn't afford a PS2, here's Kingdom Hearts. It's the actual worst in the entire series in both regards.
>KH2: Mostly gameplay. Story is just entertaining enough but not great.
>KH:BBS: Purely story. Gameplay isn't good until endgame but the story is enjoyable because of the friendship angle.
>KH: A Whole Lotta Days n Shit: Story. Everyone loved Roxas.
>KH: Coded: neither lel it's almost non-canon
>KH:DDD: Story. Gameplay is oversaturated with dumb mechanics that they were right to take a step back with for KH3.
>KH3: Before the patch, story. We wanted to see the ending. After the patch, gameplay. it's night and day how much better the gameplay is now.
>KH:ReMind: "I love Nomura's sweaty nipponese cock sliding deep into my ass"

I feel so fucking bad for anyone who plays kingdom hearts good the story.

>but the story is enjoyable because of the friendship angle
LMAO

I'm sorry you never had friends you cared deeply about user.

hey 358 days has great gameplay for a ds action game.

I'm sorry you used BBS of all things to fill your friendless hole user.

Notice I didn't trash the gameplay like some of the others.
Would you like to fill my hole?

With LIIIIIIIIIIIGHTT?

In any case I'm actually somewhat shocked I didn't grow up gay with a foot fetish. I played KH2 a LOT.

Sometimes I feel like the only one who likes chain of memories

>KH3: Before the patch, story. We wanted to see the ending. After the patch, gameplay. it's night and day how much better the gameplay is now.
That fucking gameplay part is goddamn so true. Im waiting for the dlc to go on sale so I can actually use these fast as fuck attacks.
It has a divided fanbase. I have no opinion on it since I dread card combat anything due to tcg autism.

Other people had said already but I'm going to repeat it here: people play these games mostly for the gameplay, the story is a complete cluster fuck.

Also, good watch:

>. After the patch, gameplay. it's night and day how much better the gameplay is now.
the patch or the dlc? not that the gameplay was even a massive sticking point for me either it was just kind of dull

I loved it. I was also lucky to have played it before 2, otherwise I would've been like everybody who didn't understand what was going on.

I'm gonna say DDD is the worst in the series over CoM, abyssmal gameplay and while the actual story wasn't atrocious I guess it's most of the reason the plot got as stupid as it did

There was a patch that overhauled the gameplay enough to be quite noticeable. It feels closer to KH2 now.

Well I certainly don't care about replaying it but if the dlc is ever cheap I can probably check it out there

I enjoy the gameplay, exploration, and worlds of some titles. Particularly the first two mainline games. Every spin-off felt like it had a gimmick, all of which were unceremoniously shoved into 3. I enjoyed the story somewhat, but really like the characters themselves. Once again, 3 kinda shit on me in that regard. 1FM and 2FM are absolutely worth your time.

Everyone talks about how fun the gameplay is in coded and the story sucks so the action is the fun part

Yeah, I'm sure all 5 people who remember it talk about those things.

Why? Because of Namine's feet?

>KH:ReMind: "I love Nomura's sweaty nipponese cock sliding deep into my ass"
Re:Mind adds some of the absolute best boss fights this entire franchise has to offer.

Yeah but... $30? For, like, two and a half hours?

despite most of the main story fights being press triangle to awesome, KH has some of the most notoriously difficult superbosses in gaming

It's less scummy than Final Mix re-releases desu
