I am trying to figure out the logic behind this response but I can't, if he had watched a let's play, he would have heard the music of the game regardless.

The OST is recomposed, and there's quite a few original tracks. It all sounds great, but square had never had an issue with making fucking great music, even in horrible FF games

can someone explain to me why everyone keeps saying the combat in this game is "great"? like i honestly do NOT understand

>you cant cancel the animation by guarding or rolling
>get stuck in your attack frames
>get hit
>sometimes get to use a couple boring abilities
>sometimes get to use a few boring spells
>press square till enemy dies

its the most basic shit, its like if in devil may cry you only had 1 attack and had to do keep do it until the game ended

Yeah exactly this combat is even worse than combat in Witcher 3. “Just spam square and win dude hehe..” fucking hate modern gaming.

I don't think the combat is super complex, or white knuckle difficult, but it does feel great to play. Most fights are easy, but it breaks it up with some weirdly challenging ones that force you to do a lot of character switching and using appropriate abilities. I do wish the dodge and block were more responsive, and both enemy and ally AI were more aggressive.

it does? the fact that you cant cancel the ridiculously long combo that cloud does into a guard or roll alone makes the combat feel dreadful to me

being able to cancel into a block/evade is the most basic shit you should expect in an action game

i honestly think the combat in ff15 is way better, its far more fluid and has much tighter controls for noctis plus warping and airdodging/airfighting is just an extremely fun mechanic. in ff7r you are stuck shooting flying/climbing things with barret..

FFXV is ass in comparison you're high. XV can't even be considered a game really.

FFVII remake is an episodic game and it still feels more finished than XV.
