Fallout 4 worth playing at all? I've had my fill of the older Fallout games, this and 76 are the only ones I haven't played, and I really have no intention of paying Bethesda for 76, so I'm thinking about pirating Fallout 4.

Personally I didn't care for it, they did neat things but the story in my opinion is one of the worst and the rpg elements honestly feel very shallow. You'll see for yourself how the game is different from the other 3D fallout games. I'd say pirate it and give it 2 hours by then you should know.

Wanting to know as well, what are some good mods if I end up buying the game?

It has much improved gunplay.
...that's it.
It's almost a decent shooter.
Everything else about it, any shred of RPG elements to it at all, has been destroyed in the process.

>Fallout 4 worth playing at all?
get it on sale, it can be fun

the dlc with the island is cool

It's really hard to get immersed in Fallout 4 because it feels so arcadey and all the characters are paper thin

It also feels somehow heavily censored from things Ameriburgers consider too immoral to even portray bad guys doing

get 76 for wastelanders in a few weeks

Get "Full Dialogue Interface" mod. I haven't tried the mod but the dialogue options pissed me off when playing it.

The full realization of how shallow it is happens after spending an hour in the biggest city. It leaves you feeling like you're playing an MMO and you talked to a few sparsely-worded questgivers.

The only thing is does better the the others is gunplay, the rest is all worse, I had to drop it after visiting the two "best" cities in the game because everyone's still living in dilapidated buildings like it's india, even 200 years after the bombs

Build a better city then

thoughts on only playing sim settlements conqueror?

Its ok. But not the best of the 3d games. Only dlc thats worth playing is Far Harbour.

Dont expand settlements. Just keep the one in the beginning and build everything there. If some quests force you to take other settlements take them over then kill everyone in them. If not the game will nag you to death...

It was alright for building a town and collecting women for a harem

Needs far more modding done to it than Skyrim to be playable
Just try and ignore the shit writing most of the game suffers from and play it on the hardest difficulty, it gets interesting then

Enjoy your 5 fps

Does this suit offer any functional visual changes to when you go into first person or is it just a new coat of paint?

>It has much improved gunplay.
went back to new vegas and nah, only gives off that vibe from smoother animations. and 4's ghouls have some i-frame bs

>autist posts a non functional pile of shit for the xxxxxth time

Can it give a good hardcore/survival experience like Metro/Far Cry/Stalker etc with some mod?

Fallout 4 was the final kick to the balls of the franchise as anything resembling Fallout, Fallout 76 was merely taking a shit on the corpse.

No. It totally dropped the RPG elements and turned into a brainless shooter. The dialogue system is a complete joke when compared with the previous Fallouts, and even compared to Mass Effect's dialogue, which Fallout 4 ripped off. Totally boring game.

I found it to be a similar experience to playing Borderlands.

If you liked any of the Fallout games before 4 then you're going to hate it. The story is garbage, the RPG elements are garbage, the graphics are garbage and the game has so many bugs that NV is the most stable game in comparison. The town builder stuff is the only good part about the game, which is concerning to say the least.

There is a hardcore mode but I remember hunger and sleeping being a chore. Best to just install a difficulty mod that can decrease both your health and health of the enemies

All this effort and time invested, but at the end of the day it will still only be populated by generic settler NPCs

It's worth it on sale for sure, you'll get a few good hours out of it. More if you're a dumbfuck like I am who gets tricked into building settlements.

The story isn't great, but it can be done with in a short while if you stay on it. After that it's DLC and sandbox-tier gameplay.

this is a geniunely retarded thing to say

>I had to drop it after visiting the two "best" cities in the game because everyone's still living in dilapidated buildings like it's india, even 200 years after the bombs
every 3D Fallout has this problem
even the strip in NV is a shithole outside of the 3 big casinos
