Falloot 76 comes out on steam in a few days. Is the game still a giant pile of shit? Still on the fence because all I hear about 76 is how godawful it is with no NPCs, terrible game balance, damage sponge enemies, awful PVP, and just huge mountains of game bugs and glitches. But supposedly the wastelanders update fixes lots of that and adds actual people to the game?
Doesnt this shit break the Fallout lore by having the BOS exist way too early, and has the Enclave be around before the war?

76 is a fundamentally broken mess, and the next update is going to bring so many bugs on top of already existing ones, not to mention the performance issues are going to get a lot worse. Don't get it for more than 10$

fallout 76 was a 6/10 game back in november when I left (played for more than 3 months, 350 hours) I'm assuming it'll be a 7.5-8/10 after wastelanders release
if you are avoiding it coz of your morals (daddy Hines blatantly lied) I'd say continue avoiding it but if not give it a shot it'll probably be a really decent game

76 is unsalvageable. Every single design choice was made for the sake of minimal effort. There’s no actual story because that would require a writer to come up with a cohesive plot. The BOS and Enclave are used to imitate a plot despite that making no fucking sense because the writers were lazy, didn’t give a shit/even know about the source material, and knew it would pander to the lowest denominator of the fanbase.There are no NPCs so they don’t have to write dialogue or hire voice actors. Game worlds are chosen at random and filled with other players chosen at random because making it so you can play with your friends would have required effort. They added something like this half-assedly but you can only gain access if you join their monthly pay pig club. The game has been unforgivably broken, even by Bethesda standards, since launch and zero genuine effort has been made to fix anything. Instead they decided it was a good idea to slap together a battle royal mode that is completely unplayable because “we want the Fortnite audience.”
The only semblance off effort that exists in this abortion of a game is in micro-transaction cosmetics. Which, go ahead and look them up, are a fucking joke. What is it like $10-20 for a nuka cola hat or something? They’re the absolute minimum amount of effort to create something that vaguely fits into the Fallout world. There’s less effort and care put into them than shitty texture swap assets on the modfronts. And yet that’s the one area that it appears all their effort is going into. The game is still a boring unplayable mess and all they care about is selling you limited edition gun skins and nuka cola bottles.

Technically neither of those things are anti-lore as you put them. The Enclave did exist before the war and the BoS was formed in the immediate days following. What is counter to lore is the BoS being anywhere near the East Coast that early.
