Hes not wrong though. Every good part got ruined by time jannies, like reno's introduction at the church. The remake tries to make a bunch of changes, but then ghosts come in to fix them so what's the point of making changes in the first place besides baiting players and ruining the story? Its downright disprectful
I think the next part will remain mainly intact up until Temple of the Ancients, and probably some small snippets of Zack being alive. The main focal point of the Whispers was on Aeriths death, which will either be undone or somewhere down the line will have to happen anyway to stop Meteor, who knows.

It was really explained, and probably won't till Nomura opens up to the press or the next part.
From what I can gather Seph is appearing through the other members of the reunion, and the whispers are some sort of unaligned force of nature. What they see is their future which for Aeriths sake want to change, which Sephiroth (probably Jenova) also want to change because ultimately this means their end too if we stay on the original timeline.
When you defeat the Harbinger (big ass whisper) Sephiroth absorbs them, either for knowledge of the future or some other means that wont be explained yet. I dont think this is a 'future' Sephiroth, just one thats also come to understand the Whispers like Aerith, and has been able to see a glimpse of the future.

It's a fucking crime on one of the best plot developments in games. If zoomer's experienced an updated version of it maybe they'd gain some soul but instead they get it tainted with fourth wall ghosts. It adds nothing to a new player experience, and detracts from an old player's.

Here is my theory, these time jannies are probably from the Ancient Cetran culture. I mean, how much do we know about the Cetra other than Aerith. Maybe they would expand on the history of Cetra.
Well neither do the Characters nor newcomers know what Hojo meant by it, it's an unanswered hook about what the heck Cloud is. If you already played the game then you knew this all anyway soooo?
